Thanks for that, the figure upheld against the big banks looks amazing, So hopefully get it anyway. Any idea why the front loaded is the most mis sold.
Because the PPI is added to the loan and you pay this back over the term with interest, if you cancel the ppi after the 30 days they give you to cancel, you will get a small rebate and the remaining ppi is still on the loan to term end with interest.

If you settle the loan early, the same applies again, they will give you a small rebate of the PPI and you give the remaining ppi back in the settlement figure.

With a monthly PPI amount paid separately you can cancel this any time and you just pay the loan as you would less the PPI payment.

    Hi all

Another First Plus success here. I wrote initially complaining about a ppi on a current loan. However the responded very quickly and upheld my claim, they also without any prompting from me agreed to pay back ppi on a loan i'd finished paying in 2005 which i wasn't expecting.
So that gives me a PPI payback of just under £11,000
Pretty pleased to be honest especially on getting the old loans ppi back without any word from me
    Cheers :)

:j:j:j:j I love a win with FP :D:D:T:T:T sorry i did not see your post in February, i am on the ball usually with FP,but you won anyway and one you did not know about to boot as well :T:T:j:j:j:j:j

Glad you did the mis sell and did not wait for the cash back :cool:

Success from Halifax! One form filled in and sent on 23rd Feb. A letter confirming they had received my claim & would look into it etc.

Another letter yesterday upholding my claim & a nice little £968 via cheque to follow apparently! Didn't say how long they would take so hopefully they are prompt again.

This was my first PPI claim. have 3/4 more to claim now so this has given me the encourage to act fast with the reaminder!

Just though I would put an update on here. I originally complained back in May 2011 to Lloyds, received a rejection letter with no reason on the letter, to cut a long story short I sent it to FOS in October 2011 and FOS finally come back to me 20.02.2012 stating Lloyds would now uphold my complaint and Lloyds would send me a letter I have phoned a couple of times for an update on when I am going to receive payment but they said its not been done yet. I sent an email to Tim Tookey and there reply is we are dealing with the FOS you need to contact them for an update. where do I go from here?

Your case sounds exactly the same as mine even down to the dates!
I received a letter from FOS at the end of Feb stating the same and it also said that Lloyds have advised a total of eight weeks to calculate the refund with interest etc and to make the payment. I posted on this forum a couple of days ago to enquire whether anyone had been through the same scenario and Di kindly told me that she had, and that the refund was made during this period however I think there is still significant delays for others.
In terms of your question as to who to contact, I was told by the FOS that all dealings would need to be done with Lloyds now that they have agreed to uphold the complaint so the ball is back in their court however if you have any concerns regarding the timeframe to which they are working or if you're not happy with what's in the offer letter when it (finally!) arrives, you can contact the FOS for them to become involved again.

    Hope this helps.

Thankyou for that, I will wait for there response as in my fos letter they did state that Lloyds would be contacting me shortly but that was back on 20th Feb, just waiting for how much they are going to pay me back, Let me know if you get any letters.

    Thanks again
  • Hey people, i am pleased to announce that i have had a successful claim for PPI. At first i thought i would struggle to claim as i didnt have any paperwork what so ever.
So i telephoned one of these tv advertised ppi reclaim groups who said they would sort everything out for me, so i gladly went along with that so that i wouldnt have to do much (Lazy i know).
They say they had a standard 25% win charge which i was ok with i guess, but then they send out the papers for me to sign so they can continue with my claim, i was reading through the paperwork, and i was shocked to see they also charge VAT!!!! which is something like 20-25% cant remember how much exactly, so they would have been basically taking half of what would be owed to me should i succeed.
So i thought, forget that, im not letting them take all of my money, they are basically doing what the banks were doing, taking all of my money for no reason!!.
I telephoned Halifax myself and complained about my PPI, they were quite helpful, though it did take a little while as i couldnt understand what the lady was saying on the other end of of the phone! anyway, long story short, i had a reply from halifax last friday 16th March stating i was successful in my claim, to the tune of £2647.29!!! Happy days, all of that money will be going to me alone and not these robbing claim services, so i can only stress that you should do your own claim, even if you dont have paperwork.

Still waiting for them to send me a cheque, does anybody know how long you have to wait for Halifax to send a cheque out????
