How do i find out if i have ppi on car insurance which was purchased online?

There is usually no PPI on car insurance, if you think you are paying more than you should be then ring the company you got the insurance from and ask if the Insurance is more than you were quoted, if it is then they should tell you what the extra is for.

I have been getting calls from these people who want to help you out with PPI claims pretty often and a few texts too. I obviously put the phone down and I am not interested.

I don't have any loans with my bank, just a student overdraft, but DID have a student credit card. Unfortunately through being a lazy git, I just never got round to paying it, and it was taken to a debt company, etc. All sorted now.

But question is, can I claim from this? not 100% of this.

If you have the card number and reasons for mis sell

Then put a claim in, some banks do claims over the phone.

I have put in 3 ppi complaints and was looking for advice wether you feel they are likely to be won.

I put a complaint against Halifax tppm on the grounds that i thought i had to have it and thought it was part of the mortgages procedure to have it and also that i was not told i could have shopped around for a cheaper quote etc.

I also put a complaint against First plus, i took out a loan in 2003 and said i was pressured into having ppi as it would help my application, although im not sure they did but its my word against them, but would they still hold the telephone recording from this time.

I also complained to HSBC i had 3 loans but apparently only one had ppi, and i had ppi on a credit card that i did not know i had and it has now been removed though not by me, so i have asked them who opened and closed the ppi on my credit card that i have had since 1998 til present and for them to take into account any other ppi on any other loan.

Do you think any of these will be upheld with the reasons i have given?

It IS strongly recommended that you have MPPI. The Lender is also under no obligation to tell you that a competitor may be cheaper.

Exactly. So you don't have any proof (and admit that you don't believe it to be true!)

You don't appear to be sure of any instruction you've given the Bank. It's another your word against theirs scenario.

    To be brutally honest. No.

So i have not got a hope then, even though the ppi was opened and closed on my hsbc credit card without my knowledge, and the TMMP was never really needed as i get sick pay to for 102 weeks and the firstplus ppi was not needed either for the same reason,

You asked if you had a chance based on the reasons you gave in your post, now you are listing others!
All I can tell you is that the most successful complaints are ones written honestly, in your own words and with legitimate reasons.

I have not written to them i have rung the three of them and lodged my complaints although i didnt mention the sick pay but perhaps if im rejected then i should reclaim with more thorough reasons.

    Hello dai1927,
I am no expert but from what I have been reading in this forum and my own experience your chances are good.
I think it would be a good idea to call them or wait until you have received their correspondence acknowledging your complaint and clarify the situation. It's important they know/understand your financial circumstances at the time you took the loans/credit card.
It is important to remain positive and hopefully others will advise you as well.
Don't forget it is your money! :-)

    Forget your mortgage (MPPI) complaint and go to this link;
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Look at the reasons for complaint and if any HONESTLY apply, follow the simple steps and complain. I know that HSBC will send you the FOS consumer questionnaire anyway, so you may as well fill it out now.
