You might wish to follow the lead of poster gringo2000 (posting on the very long LloydsTSB thread). He sent the Bank a registered letter (not E-Mail) threatening court action if he didn't receive his money and giving a 14 day deadline.Suerina_76 wrote: »Does anyone have an email address for someone senior at NRAM was sent a offer of refund of ppi at beginning feb sent it straight back the standard 28 days passed and still no refund have rang twice and have been fobbed off now on day 34

Look at the reasons for complaint and if any HONESTLY apply, follow the simple steps and complain. I know that HSBC will send you the FOS consumer questionnaire anyway, so you may as well fill it out now.
With regards to the Halifax TPPM i have many stories on here and other forums that people just rung up and said they were mis sold due to not being made aware they could get it cheaper elswhere and were told they had to have it as part of the mortgage, the same as i was told, and they were successful in getting huge refunds, so why should mine be any different.0 -
I've not personally seen many MPPI success stories. The fact is that the promotion of this kind of payment protection is mandatory on mortgages. It's usually set up correctly and not being told a competitor is cheaper is not a reason to complain mis-selling occurred. With regards to the Halifax TPPM i have many stories on here and other forums that people just rung up and said they were mis sold due to not being made aware they could get it cheaper elswhere and were told they had to have it as part of the mortgage, the same as i was told, and they were successful in getting huge refunds, so why should mine be any different.
Good luck with your other complaints...0 -

It seems that some people were payed out due to Halifax upholding any claims for a certain period, not sure if they are still doing this or if that period has finished, but surely i have a case if they pay out some for that reason and then stop due to the period ending, if you get what i mean.0 -
It is important to remain positive and hopefully others will advise you as well.It seems that some people were payed out due to Halifax upholding any claims for a certain period, not sure if they are still doing this or if that period has finished, but surely i have a case if they pay out some for that reason and then stop due to the period ending, if you get what i mean.
I'll let others reply to this...0 -
I put a complaint against Halifax tppm on the grounds that i thought i had to have it
Your misconception is not grounds on which to uphold a complaint. It is necessary to show that the misconception was the fault of whoever it is you are complaining to.and thought it was part of the mortgages procedure to have it
Ditto
Never been a requirement to do that.and also that i was not told i could have shopped around for a cheaper quote etc.I also put a complaint against First plus, i took out a loan in 2003 and said i was pressured into having ppi as it would help my application, although im not sure they did but its my word against them
Section 2(2) of the Fraud Act 2006 says:
"A representation is false if—
(a)it is untrue or misleading, and
(b)the person making it knows that it is, or might be, untrue or misleading."
Given that an offence under the Fraud Act can carry a custodial sentence presenting something as truth which you know may not be in order to get redress you may not be entitled to seems a rather high risk strategy.
If your allegation is untrue you had better hope not!but would they still hold the telephone recording from this time.0
