People
can you help a Thicky!
Was made an offer two days ago by LLoydsTSB re PPI reclaim, how does one know how or why I should potentially challenge it, i.e. is there a formula to check what they are offering is up to par?
Thanks for help in advance, New to forumn
Hi, with redress this depends on what the original term was, how much the ppi was with interest and if the loan was settled early.
On a loan that is still running, they take the whole ppi amount off the balance and your monthly payment goes down by the ppi monthly amount, the months of ppi you paid will be returned to you with 8%, the 8% is taxable if you are a taxpayer, unless Lloyds take this off before they give it to you.
If the loan is closed and ran to term, you get the whole ppi back plus 8%.
If the loan was settled early, you get the whole ppi back plus 8%, any rebate they gave you of the ppi for settling early will be taken off this amount.0 -

I would urge anyone who has been mis-sold ppi to write to the lender,it's so easy to do,using :money:template, you do not need to pay a claims company, and not be any quicker/or get you more money back, and will take 25% of any payouts.:eek:I wish everyone the best of luck with their claims.:A:T0 -
Hi all,
Currently having a ppi with NatWest over a Loan Running from
2003 - 2010.
Does anyone know if during that period Nat West sold Front Loaded
Loans or if the ppi will have been paid monthly
Many Thanks0 -
Hi All,
My Loan was 25k over seven years with Nat West, It was taken to Re finance my debts. My first point is that Nat West advised me to take this Loan and didnt expain the ppi to me.
I had Been in full time employement for 12 years and would have received Full sick pay from my company for any period of time.
Indeed i had a major operation where my company paid me in full and i didnt claim on my insurance.
Do i have a decent claim for mis sold innsurance and what record Do Nat West have in paying claims without going to the Obnudsman.
Many Thanks0 -
My husband had a letter today to say that capital one are upholding and paying him £200, but wont be adding the 8% because they dont beleive that he would ever have been in credit
!!!
I do like how they assume all our finances on our behalf, just liked they assumed we wanted their costly PPI in the first place. Still its a win, especially capital one, who do seem to uphold the smaller amounts I notice.
I also spoke to another company who are upholding and awaiting figures to redress us, and the nice chap on the phone told me how these secured loan companies are all winding down now, as there is just no money in it any more and then he got so excited reflecting on the hey day of selling that he forgot who he was talking too and proceeded to tell me how he had made a fortune from selling PPI's!
Well aint that the truth, I told him!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep at it people, with MSE on our side, we can claw back that money:money:0 -
First Post - A quick thankyou.
I telephoned Ulsterbank last Monday, with no information (rough start year) of a payed off 3 year loan from six years ago. Had realised going back through accounts that I was paying off too much each month for a £5000 loan. Realised I must of had been paying for ppi as well. Long story short - I had. And got an an offer of over £1000 as of Saturday. So thanks everybody.0 -
Was also wondering if there was any chance of reclaiming any additional overdrawn charges that I would have made to the bank during the period where the bank actually owed me money? Or would this cause a lot more confusion for the case?0

I'm new here and now on the PPI trail, having read a lot of info here and being fed up of automated phone calls about the miss sale of PPI i thought i'd investigate.
I bought my house in Dec 2000 and took a mortgage with Northern Rock, I was also told to take out Northern Rock Paysafe, which was ridiculously missold to me as my wife and I were both employed, paid well and in the unlikely event we both lost our jobs, dole money would have covered our mortgage it was that small.
I have 3 claims against MBNA credit cards on missold PPI i was self employed when the cards were taken out and should never have qualified, I have 3 claims against Barclaycard same reason, I received a quick response from MBNA acknowledging the complaint and Barclaycard sent me the questionnaire to fill out. I have also written to Natwest to request a copy of all credit cards and 3 Loans all paid off which may have PPI connected with them
I am struggling to find information on CITI Group ( i got given 8 different phone numbers to try ) and Bank of Scotland who have no details of my Credit card account (card last used in 2004) any help here would be appreciated.
I'll keep you updated as to how my claims progress, Good Luck everyone and well done to all who have been successful0 -

Hi,
Just started a thread under the 'loans' topic. Just read my contract for Halifax loan, I have been charged £1144 for PPI including interest on this. I still have about £3500 left to pay on the loan, can anyone tell me whether it would be possible to request PPI back in the form of a cheque, instead of getting it deducted from the balance?
Thanks!
