Hi everybody first post on this part of the forum! had a loan with First Plus in 2004. Anyway today i thought i would ring them to see if they had an update and they told me that an offer letter had been sent out on Friday! am shocked at the speed of them! will be stalking the postman tomorrow lol thanks to everyone on this forum for the good advice!0

This is my first post, but thought I'd see what everyone thinks of my journey so far. I originally tried to claim back PPI in 2007 for 4 Lloyds TSB loans and 2 credit cards - Lloyds TSB Mastercard and an Egg card. I didn't know I had the Credit Card cover and I was always told I needed the PPI to cover me and that it was essential - it was never stated I had the option not to have it!.
At the time Lloyds settled on one of the loans but rejected the other 3 and I also received rejections for the Egg and Lloyds Credit Cards. I gave up but with £700 in my pocket from the one loan they settled.
Skip forward a few years to November 2011. With all the news about PPI I thought I'd try and stress my case again so contacted Egg and Lloyds regarding my Credit Cards and stated my case while also including that my employer of 15 years covers me for 6 months full/6 half pay and I already had cover for if I died. The upshot was they agreed and paid out at the end of December, with Lloyds dragging their feet until paying out in February:
Lloyds TSB CC: £1280
Egg CC: £1688
With this renewed success, I sent a letter asking them to look at my loans again stating in the letter why - I'd just moved so didn't have the details of the one they'd settled to hand, so listed all the numbers and mentioned they'd already settled one of these cases.
After not hearing anything for 4 weeks and finally tracking down the details of the loan they'd settled, I called the Lloyds PPI complaints line. They said they'd never received the letter, so I registered a new complaint for the 3 remaining loans. I was told I'd receive a confirmation letter, but after 5 weeks I'd not received any contact. I call today and they can't find any record of my original call or complaint!. They think the previous complaint may have affected the complaints being processed. Strangely it never affected my CC complaints! All the details have been passed onto a manager to see if they can look at this at all - and they're still saying it's another 8 weeks !. Has anyone had this happen to them with Lloyds TSB ?.
Thanks for any help and advice.0 -
Hi all. Absolutely fantastic thread and very insightful if not a bit lengthy! Many congratulations to all those who have had success.
Anyway, my first post here and I would be extremely grateful for some advice.
I have registered a claim with Lloyds regarding 4 loans which I had with them all with PPI from 1993-1999. I managed to obtain all my account numbers as I am still with Lloyds and they managed to obtain them from their system. They could not advise me as to the loan amounts but confirmed that they were sold with insurance.
My first query relates to contacting Lloyds. I have seen that many complete the FOS questionnaire and send this off. When I contacted Lloyds via their PPI claim line they advised that I will not need to send anything into them as long as they have the account numbers. Is this correct? They also didn't really give me a great amount of time to elaborate as to why I felt that I had been miss old PPI and just put a few basic details into the system. I have since been thinking about whether this may affect my claim as I would have put a great amount more information on a questionnaire. I may just be hung up on this unnecessarily but it's just I don't want anything to effect any potential success! Am I worrying too much about this?!!
I have also been researching several previous loans/credit cards that I have had over the years however have very limited info. I had some loans with HFC/Hamilton Direct in the late 1990's into early 2000's. I have no details whatsoever of the loan amounts but if my memory serves me right that I may have been sold PPI. I have contacted HFC who state that I will have to write to them as they do not have details going back that far. How would be best to do this and will they confirm details of my previous loans? Has anyone here been in a similar situation?
Lastly (I know I'm going on) I have a few other previous credit cards (one being Egg which I know had PPI cover) - my general query is this - what is the best route to take to try and obtain information regarding historic accounts over 6 years old when you don't have many details (no paperwork)? I have read somewhere about a SAR but have no idea as to what this is.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
Hello and welcome
With Lloyds, you can of course ring in your complaint, or complete the reclaim questionnaire, but if you prefer you can write to them, either one is fine, if you feel you missed anything or as you stated don't feel you have given them all your info/reasons, then send them that further info in writing to them or email them (make it clear they have already recently received details but you did not give them all the details, where you wish them to add to your complaints.

In regards of trying to track down details/account numbers, if the any of the old loans were active within the last 6 or 7 years, you may be lucky to retrieve these from online banking, so if you paid your loan repayment from HFC bank from your lloyds account, these will probably still hold the details.
The account numbers of the loans are generally shown next to the monthly loan repayment.
Or call in the local lloyds branch who may check this out for you on older statements.
Equifax may also be of some help.
A week or so ago I came across a post on here made by a representative of Equifax in regards of credit reports, and they confirmed they will go back to about 10 years.
Google them in and check them out and contact them if you wish.
If any of the accounts were still active in the last 6/7 years, then hopefully you should be lucky on at least getting some info on your accounts, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Rang MBNA today to ask if they had received my 2nd letter of complaint dated 19 Feb 2012 as I've heard nothing from them. Several minutes (and 2 staff) later they finally said it was registered and they'd written to me on 1 March to acknowledge it (apparently to an address I've never lived at?????). Said they would now resend the letter. Told them I also wanted to reclaim the 'payment protection cover' and they registered that too. They said they had 8wks to deal with all of this. I replied 'I know so now you only have 4 wks left!' The whole thing smacked of stalling tactics - the 2nd person I spoke to was very shady about what address they had allegedly written to on 1st March - I'd never heard of it and she couldn't even spell it out to me - yeh yeh........pull the other one MBNA.......0

Been awarded £3330 from Lloyds Credit Card (unfortuantely I went down the claim company route who will take 30% + vat), but it's money that I'm delighted with. In additional another £750 which is due soon as well (that will also require repayment to credit claims).

The 8 weeks will be up this week from when we sent off our claim to the Halifax for mis-sold PPI on our mortgage. I had a letter Saturday saying that the protection with the mortgage was now cancelled. I rang PPI helpline for the Halifax today to ask if it was cancelled because they are giving us an offer and the very nice lady said 'yes'. Full refund of £8900. So pleased with that. Just got to wait to see it in writing , then I will really believe it . :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T0

I personally have not heard of this and they sound like they are just trying to fob you off. I'm sure others on here will advise you also and agree what Lloyds can be like for fobbing people off!!
There is a specific forum on here just for Lloyds TSB PPI complaints and if you haven't posted on there, type into the search box and it will link you to it.
Sounds like you need to reply to them with as much info as you can either via a new questionnaire with a letter attached and send it RECORDED DELIVERY to the PPI Complaints address. Don't bother with the phone line, it's useless apparently!
You must have done everything right with the Credit Card otherwise they wouldn't have paid up!
Lloyds are known for dragging their heels!
Good luck!;)0 -
Morning one and all! Right here's an update on Hubby's Lloyds CC claim. Last week they found him again and this week they're investigating him!!! I can't make up my mind if this is a stalling tactic or they're genuine (cynic)! Do you think he'll have to wait the full 8 weeks again, or do you think they'll get on with it?0
