They should get on with it, give them 7 days and get back in touch with them.
Will do!!! THANKS very much for all your help along with Di previously. I've put my CC claim in the old pension pot. Mine was all done and dusted in the 8 weeks, but poor old Hubbys claim is all about face LOL.

    Hi

How long ago did you take it out (year) and settled?
If within the last 6 years the business should hopefully still hold at least come details.

You could try for a £2 credit report from example Equifax.

Account numbers and any ppi should be shown on statements if you do come across any, but otherwise I believe GE are being dealt with by Santander, you could give them a call or call into a local branch.

    Good luck.

hi im new on here so apologies if i have missed an original answer to a similar question . I am trying to claim ppi from 4 loans i previously had with welcome finance , All my dealings were with welcome but they have stated that the underwriters at the time were ariva insurance and i need to claim with them which i have just wondered if anyone has hd any sucess stories ????

    Hi there
If Welcome sold you the finance ,its them you pursue, but as the business are in default, you can make a reclaim through the Financial compensation scheme (FSCS).

It appears that Welcome are assuming you want to make a claim and not a reclaim, if you want to make a claim for unemployment/sickness etc, then yes its the underwriters you contact, but in regards of a reclaim Welcome are responsible.

I think Welcome have got confused here (thats if you want to make reclaim and not a claim).

Check below for details on FSCS, but please be aware that the FSCS will only be able to deal with businesses who were regulated at the time the loans were taken out, from 14 Jan 2005, as they would have to have been regulated by the FSA.

So if you do have earlier ones, you could contact the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) who will then advise you on the best direction, and on the ones not governed/regulated, they will probably advise the underwriter direction, which in your case you already have the details and on the ones taken out on or after the date above contact the FSCS.

Hope this clears things for you, good luck.

(Ask the above FSCS for a claim form) for each one regulated.

Hi this is my first post just to see if anyone agrees with me that i was mis-sold?

I took out 3 loans over the past 5years which are all paid off now with black horse which had PPI automatically added to them without me knowing? I went through the procedure of contacting them filling out questionaire and i got a letter back today saying i wasnt entitled to anything as i never opted out on loan agreement forms and should have checked before i signed forms and sent back? I was a bit younger then and unsure of terms&conditions and didnt realise and sent forms back to get my loan approved as was at the time desperate for the money as were in middle of moving house and ran short of money? I thought not being told was part of mis-sold as was automatically added to our loan?

Any ideas what to do next as i dont agree with their response? Anyone else agree, should i contact financial ombusman?

    Hi
You could try writing back and tell them you do not agree with the decision they made and you are requesting they review your complaint with further information, ask if they can let you know by 14 days (if you hear nothing or if they do not change the decision, move on to the FOS).
The final letter should be enclosed details of the FOS, they should let you know if eligible or not, but even if you have received details, sometimes they will consider changing a decision depending on what further info you give.

I would tell them that being young, you believe you were vulnerable and the t&c's were all jargon to you and it was wrongly sold to you by them adding the ppi automatically to the policy - where you remember clearly not even being asked, so assumed it was all part of the loan, because the adviser never told you differently. Due to this you do not believe the adviser was experienced enough to sell these products, and strongly believe you were mis sold a product as you were not given the option to say no.

It's up to you if you want to give it another shot with them first, see what happens by 14 days.

    Good luck.

    Hi
can someone please give me the HSBC address for a sar request? I tried the address in Leeds but my letter came back.

    Hi
    try this......

You should write to us at:
    HSBC, Regulated Sales Complaints
    120 Redcliff Quay,
    Redcliff Street,
    Bristol,
    BS1 6HU

More here from the HSBC website, you can still make a reclaim if you have the account number and know for sure you were sold PPI.

Thnaks for that I still had the card within the last 6 year, but it may have been with a collection agent, I will check out the credit report I might be able to find something there.

    can you help a Thicky!

Was made an offer two days ago by LLoydsTSB re PPI reclaim, how does one know how or why I should potentially challenge it, i.e. is there a formula to check what they are offering is up to par?

Thanks for help in advance, New to forumn
