We complained to First Plus on the 3rd February.
We received our check today for £4512 and has duly been paid in.
Cant believe how quick, this has happened and the sheer elation from it.
Thanks to all for the advice, especially Amersall.
Will keep on updating on our first claim which has gone to the FSO and the underwriters, but have been told this claim make take a while
Happy Days though

Just recevied a copy of my loan agreement from Tesco where it clearly states page 2/5 and 5/5 but page 1, 3 & 4 are missing (not been sent).
Page 2/5 shows my signature and the loan amont etc. Page 5/5 shows no date but the T&C's where is states I have elected not to take the optional PPI.
I am unable to remember the details from the time of the application so it is probably correct but can I be sure as there is no date on the T&C's??
Can anybody offer any advice??
Get back in touch and tell them you want the missing pages.0 -
I have received a rejection from MBNA saying they are not upholding my complaint as I went through the online application where it would be clear that PPI was a separate policy and that I clicked the 'yes' box - this was on 10/07 however they have sent back the signed credit agreement which I signed on 20/07 and the boxes where it 'strongly recommends' that I take out PPI are both unchecked (yes and no) do I still have a claim as this is surely part of the 'cooling off' period and that I have chosen not to take out the PPI? any advice would be welcome.
Get back in touch and tell them the about the unticked boxes on the agreement, ask them to look at the claim again or you will take this to FOS.0 -
£754 in my account tonight from First Direct, one week after returning the offer letter
. Just waiting on 2 from Tesco and another from First Direct. 0 -
Got another lovely Lloyds letter in the post yesterday, actually one of the upheld complaints was on a Lloyds STAFF loan, taken when I worked for them, I was told that because I was in my probationary employment period I could have a staff loan but only if I took the PPI. The other one was a PPI that I was told I had to have on a loan I took when I wasn't even working !!!
The end result is that they are paying me £5865.85 back, so so far with just 3 less than 5 min phone calls, they have paid out £13k on my credit card effectively clearing the horrendous balance, £6k on my husbands loan and now £5865 on my loans the end result is that we are virtually debt free with just 4 years left to run on our mortgage. Phewwwwwwwwwwww, thanks to all the forumites I would never have had the courage to do this without your inspiration.0 -
Hello, can anyone help please
Tried contacting Egg and message said to contact Barclay card. Have been trying to call them but there is no answer.
Could someone help me with a number and has anyone claimed PPI from Egg?
Thank you0 -
Hi All,
It has been over a year when I called GB PPI claiming company. After listening about my case, they asked £50 but I said I didn't have £50 but accepted to £pay £10 instead, to start the procedure. There were PPI claims for my CC and Loans. I got CC PPI within a few months and paid the the 25%+VAT.
For my loans the bank refused therefore the case went to FOS and now the bank has agreed to pay after over a year.
I heard and now I can understand how straight forward it is to put a claim forward.
At the time I made the claim, I was lead (mis-lead) to believe (based on the ads) that an individual (myself) cold not do it and needed expert advice/intervention.
£25+vat is lot.
Since I was 'mis-lead' into believing that I needed their expert advice and did not inform me that I could do it on my own:
1. Can I launch a complaint and ask to annul/void the contract.
2. and when GB said no, what would be their possible actions?
3. Would be better to go through the court to argue the case and may be set a precedent?
What else, please.
It's my hard earn money and it's a huge chunk the want from it.
Thank you all for reading...0 -
I wrote a short letter to MBNA just saying I believed I had been a victim of the mis selling of PPI on 14 feb and on 10 march received a letter informing me that my claim was upheld and I will be receiving a cheque for £1500+ shortly. Very impressed with them; and very grateful to this site. This card had not been in use since 2006 and I would not have ever considered applying for repayment of PPI if it hadn't been for you wonderful MSErs. Thank you so much. I have now sent letters off to other companies I have had cards with.0
