PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi all
I posted last week about our success with Natwest and how 3 credit card PPI claims are now with the Ombudsman - we've had a reply from the FOS advising that due to the overwhelming number of claims, they are aiming to reply to us by May.
Frustrating as it is, I really don't envy their jobs at the moment so we'll sit back and wait as patiently as possible (easier said than done) and try not to think about them.
Good luck to everybody with your claims.
Best wishes
Gelly

letter on Satuday upholding complaint.
Just checked online banking and full payment received.
£2242:j
I do feel so sorry for all the people waiting months and months for payments.
Mine was less than 8 weeks from start to finish.
I really can't understand the logic with that bank!!!!
Good luck everyone:beer:
Hope ours goes in that quickly.0 -
I have to echo the speediness of the above.
We complained to First Plus on the 3rd February.
We received our check today for £4512 and has duly been paid in.
Cant believe how quick, this has happened and the sheer elation from it.
Thanks to all for the advice, especially Amersall.
Will keep on updating on our first claim which has gone to the FSO and the underwriters, but have been told this claim make take a while

Just recevied a copy of my loan agreement from Tesco where it clearly states page 2/5 and 5/5 but page 1, 3 & 4 are missing (not been sent).
Page 2/5 shows my signature and the loan amont etc. Page 5/5 shows no date but the T&C's where is states I have elected not to take the optional PPI.
I am unable to remember the details from the time of the application so it is probably correct but can I be sure as there is no date on the T&C's??
Can anybody offer any advice??0 -
I have received a rejection from MBNA saying they are not upholding my complaint as I went through the online application where it would be clear that PPI was a separate policy and that I clicked the 'yes' box - this was on 10/07 however they have sent back the signed credit agreement which I signed on 20/07 and the boxes where it 'strongly recommends' that I take out PPI are both unchecked (yes and no) do I still have a claim as this is surely part of the 'cooling off' period and that I have chosen not to take out the PPI? any advice would be welcome.0

Would someone know if there was normally a ppi attached to Loans secured on a mortgage.
I borrowed an additinal £45k from my mortgage Lenders (Abbey) in Sept. 2002 and this appears as Lona 2 on my mortgage statement.
However, when I asked them if a ppi was attched they responded that they cannot find any proof of ppi. This borrowing was done over the phone, so I have no paperwork.
When I wrote to them to send me the Loan agrrement, all they sent is the agreement for the initial mortgage (Loan 1), and nothing for Loan 2.
I am requesting for a SAR just to convince myself that I was not paying for something I didn't know about.
Thanks all for your help.
You need to post this here.

Lloyds sent them a copy of the letter I recieved, detailing all the accounts and the awards, not really sure why they did that, but the ppi company are saying Lloyds wouldnt of looked into old accounts unless they had done the original claim that came back negative?
This is correct, do as Di suggested earlier.0 -
They should be sending you the calculations soon. Please help!!!!
I have lodged a complaint with lloyds tsb on the 24th of jan 2012 thinking what the hell in for a penny in for a pound, well they told me I was able to claim on three loans which had ppi, told to wait eight weeks to see what would happen having not received any paperwork or even a phone call I decided to give them a call this morning to my surprise the man said that they had just deposited £7652 into my account. Question is !!!! I have not had a letter to say this was going to happen so is it right that they can just put the money into my account or do they have to wait for my letter of acceptance.
The three loans were a culmination of consolidating one after the other
First loan in 2002 = £23000 then increased to below
Second loan 2003 = £27568 then paid until where it was increased by 5k To the figure below
Third loan 2010 = £10000
Please can anyone help me as I'm a newbie and obviously not good with money ? Do these figures look correct
All that said I'm more than happy with just under £8k :rotfl::j
Many thanks

I just had a letter through from Natwest saying they'd looked at my loan account as requested, and I have 2500 worth of PPI on it. I'm going to try and claim that back, do I simply write a letter to them?
And secondly, I've had 2 loans and a credit card with Lloyds TSB but can't remember any of the details, is it possible to write to them and ask them to check all my previous loans and cards for PPI? Is there a template letter I can use for that?
Thanks

Have your reasons for mis sell ready.
You can go into a branch of Lloyds and ask if they have any details on you.0
