PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi guys,
I just had a letter through from Natwest saying they'd looked at my loan account as requested, and I have 2500 worth of PPI on it. I'm going to try and claim that back, do I simply write a letter to them?
And secondly, I've had 2 loans and a credit card with Lloyds TSB but can't remember any of the details, is it possible to write to them and ask them to check all my previous loans and cards for PPI? Is there a template letter I can use for that?
Thanks

How do they know you have been awarded any money?
Lloyds sent them a copy of the letter I recieved, detailing all the accounts and the awards, not really sure why they did that, but the ppi company are saying Lloyds wouldnt of looked into old accounts unless they had done the original claim that came back negative?0 -
thanks dizzy di but it seems to be a strange one, no news about on other forums but i must presume that after 6 weeks without hearing from them surely it must be a positive.
i would have thought that if there was no chance they would have let me know!!!!!!!!!! by now surely.
WOULD'NT THEY0 -
Thanks Di3004
Yes I have a Email confirming the accounts had no PPI claims and the case is closed! On the ones I gave them!
But lloyds looked at all my loans etc that I didnt give to my PPI company and thats what I have got the money from and was nothing to do with the PPI company! They are now chasing me for £6000 which I feel is unfair! I will try what you have suggested thanks!
Hi
In that case those other accounts had absolutely nothing to do with the claims company, and I would make it clear to them that you still have proof of the email they sent you to confirm no ppi on thay actual loan they were going to try pursuing.
Any prbs, then contact ICO, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Returned-£4805
Returned after a phone call stating my reasons as to why I thought I had been mis sold this policy.
About 8 weeks ago I received a letter from HBOS saying they were changing t&cs on my insurance policy. When i took this policy out 9 years ago it was sold as a life insurance policy but in the letter ppi was mentioned,so i phoned HBOS and asked if this was the case. The answer was although it was in part life insurance it was also ppi for my mortgage I was stunned. At that point I asked to make a claim for mis-sold ppi.All my details were taken, a week later I received a letter saying my case would be considererd and I would hear within 12 weeks of a decision.Today 8 weeks later te confirmation letter arrived so I am delighted. All for the price of a 10 minute phone call.:T
Brilliant! Congratulations!:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Getting married next year so this will pay for most of the wedding and pay off my credit card!! Does anyone have any idea how long Barclaycard take to pay?? Thanks for all your invaluable help and advice and never give up, this was originally rejected but I knew I was in the right and stuck to my guns
Wow..just out of interest what were your reasons and how long did it take. Did they ask for much evidence? Thanks0 -
Would anyone know if it was customary to add a ppi to such Loans as a Career Development Loan from Barclays.
I took one in 2001, over the phone but I don't know if a PPI was attched to it as paying CDL back was delayed for 12 months until.
Wouldn't want to pay £10 for a SAR ony to find out there is nothing to be gained.

Please help!!!!
I have lodged a complaint with lloyds tsb on the 24th of jan 2012 thinking what the hell in for a penny in for a pound, well they told me I was able to claim on three loans which had ppi, told to wait eight weeks to see what would happen having not received any paperwork or even a phone call I decided to give them a call this morning to my surprise the man said that they had just deposited £7652 into my account. Question is !!!! I have not had a letter to say this was going to happen so is it right that they can just put the money into my account or do they have to wait for my letter of acceptance.
The three loans were a culmination of consolidating one after the other
First loan in 2002 = £23000 then increased to below
Second loan 2003 = £27568 then paid until where it was increased by 5k To the figure below
Third loan 2010 = £10000
Please can anyone help me as I'm a newbie and obviously not good with money ? Do these figures look correct
All that said I'm more than happy with just under £8k :rotfl::j
Many thanks

SUCCESS!!
8 weeks ago my boyfriend called natwest to register his PPI claim.
he had loans when he was a teenager of about £20,000.
we have got a letter through the post this morning to say he has been offered just over £5,000!
we are over the moon! and so glad we didn't use a PPI company to reclaim as they can take up to 20%. this just goes to show how easy it was to do, just 1 phone call!!0
