  • Just received a letter from Santander (was Abbey) who are upholding my complaint for mortgage paymentcare (accident and sickness). Claimed mis-sold on the grounds that I already had payment protection with work.

Receiving £1,950... still in shock!! Thanks MSE for the confidence to go ahead with the complaint x

Just opened post to find two letters from Barclays.....one telling me they couldnt uphold the claim for mis sold ppi on a loan....and the other to tell me that they were paying £789 into my bank account as they had upheld my claim for mis selling on my overdraft ppi..for which they were very sorry. I have 5 claims in with Barclays, all sent on the same day with the same reasons for mis selling, so am very happy with the one offer, but confused as to why they can say they have mis sold on the overdraft ppi yet not on the loan one.....I am thinking of sending them a copy of their own letter upholding the overdraft ppi claim, and asking why they say the loan ppi wasnt mis sold...what do others think?
Still got 3 more claims in so hopefully should get response this week....Yippee £789 better off.
  • NRAM has agreed to pay me back £8,000 on a £21k loan taken out in 2006 :)

hi all,Because of this great site ive received my first goodwill gesture off RBS,i sent 7 seperate PPI claims for various amounts.

But before i send it back i need to know do all the claims get done separate, because i sent them all together but only one came back bit worried that they have not looked at the others.

What were the reasons for rejecting the loan and what reasons did you use for mis sell?.

Yes I head the recording and no it wasn't edited.I t was that my wife had been on the phone for 15 minutes and wanted to finish the call so she just agreed. Fortunately she only paid about £150 over the course until I cancelled it.

On another note I have just found out that I paid PPI on a loan and mortgage I had from Feb 2001 to Dec 2001 and am now in the process of claiming this back. I hadn't claimed earlier as I believed my mortgage at the time had no ppi on it but have now found out it did when I re mortgaged and took out a secured loan. I have a list of all the payments made which come to £240.40 on the mortgage and £208.54 on the loan.I know it's not a vast sum but what would the interest be approximately on these amounts.
Not sure about the interest to be honest wait and see, you may get a nice surprise :D fingers crossed.

Amersall, I sent off my complaint and today they upheld it! They have not given me any idea of redress yet as they are waiting for info from nemo loans with details of what we have paid.
They have said they will put us back to the position we should have been in had we not taken the PPI of £12000 and only took the loan amount of 49000.
Whatever redress we get, I am so grateful for, but most of all I am just so pleased that after all these years of feeling so depressed that we got stung by the PPI theives, justice has prevailed!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j that was me when I got the post today!
:p:p:p Love it when a plan comes together :T:T:T:T:T
Now i am jumping for joy :j:j:j:j congrats and don't spend it all at once :D

I sent two letters of the letters mentioned on this site to MBNA in December 2011 and early February 2012. MBNA sent me details of 3 accounts, (2 small loans and one credit card account) which I paid off years ago. Without any further form filling from me they today sent a long letter with breakdowns of all monies paid and interest. I'm getting a cheque for £951.36 within 28 days so thanks Money Saving Expert for your help.
  • What were you reclaiming: Personal loan
    Who was the provider: NatWest
How much did you get back: £5,882
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Got it back after phoning the RBS claims department who took my details.

I rang the department on 5th Jan and received my letter 2 weeks later saying they were looking into it as it was a refinanced loan. I received my offer on 3rd march and sent my acceptance off on 5th march and the letter stated that the payment would be made within 28 days.
After reading some posts here it sounds like the payments are being made quicker is that correct? And it also sounds like you will receive a text and then some payments? I don't mind if I have to wait 28 days as I am thrilled with how quickly it has all gone through but would love the money earlier to clear my cc and be debt free :-)
Thanks for all the advice from everyone on this site
