    Hi hun,

they do have ppi on these cards but call it something like repayment option plan, i have claimed my credit card charges from these and they are now processing my ppi as we call it on there as well, if you think the ppi was on there why dont you send them the questionairre of this website like i did, it seems to have worked for me x
Thanks for this :D was not sure what this covered as per my original answer to the op.

    Advice please

Some success with Barclays on an old loan from 2002. They could find no paperwork or account details but I had copies of the agreement.

They have offered me (as a gesture) £1800.

The PPI part of the loan was £1201.09 plus credit charge, making a total of £1325.04 payable over 24 months. I am sure the loan ran the full course.

Is this a reasonable offer? They have enclosed the cheque but say I can return it and ask them to recalculate if I have more information etc.

    Should I just bank it?
Looks ok to me, the ppi was £1325.04 this is what you would have paid (the interest is in this payment) so i would say they have given you more back.

Sounds a decent offer klflosser, don't forget you have to pay tax on the 8% figure, phone HMRC and they will either alter your tax code or send a payment slip. Well done ;)

:p:p:p I am getting slow in my old age :p:p

PS it was a goodwill gesture :p so no tax to pay :T:T

Thanks for the advice. I will bank the cheque then. It was some old paperwork I hadn't expected to find so a bonus anyway.

As self employed I will be giving my accountant all my figures and will include it in my 2011-12 tax return.

    Thanks again.

If it was a gesture they do not have to pay you the 8%, have they paid you this?.

I had real frustration with these and it was not good news. My wife was sold it over the phone and after a 15 min telephone application she agreed to take it out to get off the phone. They dont call it ppi but it is...When we received the SAR it was listed as loads of different things on the report. Even though I highlighted this the FOS ruled against me cos of my wife agreeing on the phone. I left it at that and never got back to the FOS as it was only about £299.

Was this more than 6 months ago?, you should have asked them to provide the telephone call.

    Hi again,

As I don't have any info it would be very difficult for me to fill in the claims form. I am in someways chancing my arm because I'm not even sure if I was sold PPI. On the other hand the fact I don't even know if I had it must also show how useless it was to me as I wouldn't of claimed even if I could have and I certainly didn't need it.
I live in Guernsey and we have pretty much full employment. Even in this recession we have less than 2% unemployment and when I had my loans it was half that.

Send a Sar to the bank or whatever you use in guernsey for obtaining data and this should throw everything up they have on you.

  • Hi All,

I have read hundereds of pages of this thread which have been not only useful but inspirational to me and my Husband on our debt free/reclaim journey.

Having trouble with HSBC. My Husbands loan and credit card are with Metropolitan debt collections which I believe are HSBC's in house debt collectors. We are being passed from one foreign call centre to another trying to get some information on his accounts and had just about enough now. Please can someone give me the email address for the CEO as I've seen people have had quick responses this way.

Also, am I going about this the right way; I have sent letters with £1 cheques requesting original agreement and T&C's from my creditors to see if I have PPI on my accounts. Would I be better hedging my bets and sending the FOC questionnaire anyway to speed things up a bit?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated :)

    Hi all,
I am new here but been reading the forum on and off for a while now.
Recently looked through some old accounts and by using Martins templete letter contacted Barclaycard as I felt they had misold PPI to me. I received a letter today with an offer of £540 :) going to have a proper read over the letter before I decide to accept.
