What do you guys think? Thanks michelle
Hi Shellnpaul
Just wondering how long it took MBNA to get back to you after you wrote or rang them with your claim. Thanks0 -
hi , i rang them on 22 feb to log complaint, they sent acknowledgement letter on 29 feb, i rang today to check some detail and the guy on the phone told me it had been upheld, so has taken less than two weeks, ive not had upheld letter or cheque though but they seem to be really quick.0

Thanks Laura, I was with HSBC and the Midland before them for about thirty years. As I said I don't know if I paid PPI but would have thought that I did. I think the first loan was for about six and a half thousand, I wrote to them about ten days ago so hopefully I will hear something soon. I hope I get lucky any amount would be nice, I've no idea what I'd be looking at.
Thanks again for your reply.:)0 -

Having said all that, you have a good starting point with your redundancy and sick pay.But do look for reasons which may also apply to you here

As Laura did, you'll have to fill out a ppi consumer questionnaire in the near future and you'll find it is available for download at the link above. You may want to start filling it out now in readiness for the Bank's reply.

Does anyone know if when you receive your cheques if the 8% interst is paid first then the remainder in another cheque. I have had success from Natwest and received two cheques for two seperate loans but only for the interest. But also received a text from them saying payment will be made within 7 days.
Thanks

Also this week had success with Tesco for a credit card £2000 being paid off card.0 -
Hi again,
As I don't have any info it would be very difficult for me to fill in the claims form. I am in someways chancing my arm because I'm not even sure if I was sold PPI. On the other hand the fact I don't even know if I had it must also show how useless it was to me as I wouldn't of claimed even if I could have and I certainly didn't need it.
I live in Guernsey and we have pretty much full employment. Even in this recession we have less than 2% unemployment and when I had my loans it was half that.0 -

They sometimes send them separately, the 8% is taxable, if the bank does not take this off before they give this to you then you will have to phone HMRC and they will let you know how you can pay the tax on this.0 -
Reclaiming PPI on a Personal Loan
Provider was HSBC
Just received £3433.57 :j
Got the money back after being rejected twice by HSBC and once by the Ombudsman
I am so happy right now I could burst, I will try to keep our success story brief...
My husband and I took out a £3,000 loan with HSBC about 8 years ago, in 2006 we increased the loan to £10,000. The purpose of the loan was to consolidate debt we had incurred when my husband was made redundant. We first tried to reclaim our PPI back in 2007 on the grounds that the PPI was misold to us. (When applying for the loan we were not given an option to opt out of PPI and were led to believe that it was part of the loan). We wrote to HSBC who swiftly rejected our claim and said that we had signed the paperwork and there was not sufficient evidence to show that the PPI was misold. We did not agree with this but did accept it, up against a big bank like HSBC we didn't feel that we had a leg to stand on. After Martin Lewis and MSE highlighting the PPI miselling again we made another attempt to reclaim with HSBC in 2009. This time around we filled out the PPI Reclaim form on the MSE website but was unsuccessful again. HSBC would not budge. Several months later we decided to contact the Ombudsman who wrote back to us saying that as we had left it more than six months after HSBC issued its final response to our complaint they were unable to investigate. In January of this year I decided that I would try again, after the FSA bank ruling in May 2011 we thought we would give it one last shot. We felt so strongly that we had been misold PPI it was worth another go. We filled out the PPI reclaim form from the MSE website again and sent it off to HSBC Regulated Sales Complaint Team. On 16th Feb 2012 we had a letter to say that our complaint had been received and that we would hear from them within 4 weeks time. On Sat 25th February 2012 we received another letter confirming that HSBC were upholding our complaint. They stated that they were unable to respond on a case-by-case basis to specific issues raised but proposed to offer us the amount of £3433.57. They said this figure would effectively return the PPI premiums we had paid along with an element of gross interest. We were over the moon. This sum included PPI for both of the loans even though we were only reclaiming PPI on the second loan which was a sum of £2124.01 On checking our bank account today the money has been paid in and we are delighted. We can't thank Martin Lewis and the MSE team enough for there valuable wealth of information that they give on there website. Without MSE we would have given up a long time ago. Anyone who has been rejected keep trying like we did, please please don't give up and fight for your rights! :T0 -
