Hi Amersall,
Decided to go to my local branch to ask for their help.
They sorted everything out, explained the figures, apologised for the mess, I have the loan statement showing the loan is now closed and deposited my cheque of £5,865.31. I am so happy that this is now resolved!
Another success total £13,447.80 (£2,668.37 more than the original offer)
I took with me the documents I had found in relation to an overdraft ppi which I never took but I had been paying for since 2003 via direct debit £3.95 per month.
I called Lloyds about it but nobody had ever heard of PPI on a Overdraft therefore I could not lodge a complaint.
The advisor knew all about it but did say that Lloyds no longer sell these. He filled in all the paperwork for me and sent it off.
My advise to anyone having problems getting answers about ppi on loans or credit cards attached to a bank, go into your local branch and ask for their help. My local branch was very helpful so if it worked for me it will sure work for you.
Good luck to all, keep at it, don't forget it is your money!
Once again thank you Amersall xYou are welcome, glad to have helped x.

I am sure i have read success stories on her and i am sure my husbands card has got ppi on it, she told me that they only do card repayment protection is this not the same? many thanks michelle0

They did say they would defend against any iinvolvement with FOS or Court action because of this. FOS did say they were entitled to do this as they were not regulated at the time.
That is the reason we are now going down the 'underwriter' route.
If this fails, does anyone think it may be worth going back to First Plus as this is were the broker placed the loan and when we took out a further advance all the monies was paid back on the first loan to First Plus. As we were successful in getting the PPI back from First Plus on the further advance i was wondering whether there was any redress to answer as they obviously accepted the loan from the broker and gladly took all the money back when it was paid off.
First Plus have already given the answer that this is to do with the broker and not them but as the broker worked as an agent for them, would they have any obligation to see that the PPI was sold correctly before they took it on.
Just a thought whilst i am waiting for FOS and Lloyds to come back.
In a word, no, you would be wasting your time, i know it stinks! but there you have it, the broker sold you the loan and ppi not FP.
Having said that when did you take the further advance and did you do this with FP?.
It may help if FP did this directly with you.0 -
Just had 2.5k paid by Yorkshire.
Anyone help with this?
Money went in today covering a credit card & old loan. Then today get a letter from the bank's complaints team saying my complaint was not upheld. They said the PPI was optional and sent a copy of my original agreement, copy of certificate of insurance etc etc.
However, it does not mention anywhere that I will not be covered if I am in a sick pay scheme with my employer. Is this just paperwork, because they have an agreement to reimburse me and did?
Still feel like taking them to the Ombudsman because of the above, any ideas why they'd agree and pay me then not uphold my complaint?
Did you get the redress figures for the card and loan?, it could be they have not upheld the card but have upheld the loan.0 -
Hi MSE sent in a claim on 24/11/11 for the return of my PPI on a loan. Today I received a cheque for £2029.40!!
£1604.43 for PPI and associated interest
£424.97 for 8% interest
I'm a very happy bunny indeed! Just hope my ppi on credit cards go as well but have only just put the claim in.:j:j
Does anyone know if I now have to pay tax on this or can I just put it in the bank?
Thanks for the help on this forum, you're all STARS :j :j
You only pay tax on the 8% amount,if the bank have not taken this off ring HMRC and ask how you pay this.0
