    Hi everyone..

I am new to this...within my first letter that I had sent off to Abbey on the 4th March, i had sent them back a form regarding my old account number and the start and end of my mortgage dates.. recieved a call from Abbey 5th of March stating that they are looking into the matter and it will take 4wks,then yesterday recieved yet another letter concerning about my complaints.and would I complete and sign a Questionaire regarding about myself and personal circumstances i.e earnings and outgoings when I took out the policy..Surely with my old account number they would have my details when I took out my first mortgage and ppi..could anyone tell me if this is standed procedure..and do I fill in the forms and send them back..thanks

    Hi and welcome.;)

In regards of the Questionaire, this is now becoming quite popular, it is your choice if you want to fill this in, but what many have done in this case is write back and tell them they have returned the questionaire (not completed) as you are aware they hold the details of you from when they sold you the policy.

They should already know this and in many opinions this is like a scare and stalling tactic.

They must still continue to investigate your complaint, if you do not hear by the full 8 weeks you should be eligible to take to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).

And yes they should have the account number if this was within the last 6 years, have you tried requesting a Subject access request (SAR), you will find a letter template for this on the thread and with this request they must supply everything they have on you going back as far as 6 years, they have 40 days to comply.

However there is a cost of £10 cheque or postal order payment for this, to enclose within the request.

Or the cheaper option would be to request for just a copy of the agreement, they have 12 days to supply this and for a cost of a cover payment of £1 postal order or cheque payment.

    Post by recorded delivery.

An SAR may be useful if having problems where there maybe some useful info to back your case within this information.;)

Hi everyone, I'm in the process of trying to reclaim HSBC PPI on a loan which was mis-sold, was having a quick read through for some success stories and seems that all those I came across had their claims upheld after only the first letter. I have just been rejected and am preparing to write again but am feeling a little dejected now! Does anyone have any experience of having to contest the first decision with HSBC to make me feel better? Thanks x

Im waiting for mine also should be hearing any day now! You have got me dis-heartened now haha x Why did you say it was mi-sold? x

Creation also said they had no record of me.....dont give up! I caled, moaned and shouted at them numerous times and eventually (like an hour ago) had a call from them saying yes would refund me. They tried every avenue possible to say that they had no record of my account - I infromed them that due to data protection they have to keep account info for 6 years and as it had only been 5 then they had better have it.....suprise suprise they do! They are putting into writing that they they have refunded all premiums paid and interest of 25% and I can now kick som GE Money !!!. GE Money as the bain of my life right now but they took over my account and "upgraded" my account to their cover in September 2004. I did not recieve any new insurance info from them nor can they provide me with ny evidence that I requested such cover....I was temporary employed so I am now going to write top them with the proof of refund from creation and also a covering letter from the temp agency regarding my temp contract - I am not holding my breath but I am determined to take this as far as I can! I am also cliaming against GE for my Topshop account - they asked for National Insyrance report to prove I was not in employment which I have now sent along with a letter from NI to state that my last NI contricution was 4th October 2002 - I took the account and insurance out on 20th October 2002. Just now have to wait to see what they say but very confident as from the 4th October 2002 I dodnt work again until May 2003!

Keep at it guys - dont give up!
