Hi harrysmumamy,

thanks in advance and good luck all!0 -
The reason my ppi claim on my credit card was upheld is due to me being self employed for over 20 years
The calculations of my claim are as follows.
This is a final response from the Halifax.
Refund of premiums =£1,721.45
Refund of interest =£2,384.56
Interest at 8% =£686.49
Total =£4,792.50
That is brilliant, well done!:T0 -

As we are going away in June to Salou, this has taken all the worry away about spends. Me, the missus and the kids are going to have a great time:j
Just waiting on me first claim now, but anything off that will be a bonus as it is going to the underwriters and FOS
:j:j:j Another FP ppi bites the dust:D:cool::cool::cool:

Was wondering about reply from monument stating they will not pay back Payment protection break ,as in the last 6 years i havent paid this as it was stopped, and they say that they do not go further back than this , is this right. Should i take it further or is that as they say final. i paid this ins for about 6 years previous to 2006 , unaware of course & def not needed as covered with everything form work. Can someone please suggest anything or am i wasting my time. Thanks once again in advance especially to Amersall & Dilus for there much appreciated help & encouragement in the past. Congratulations to all who have won lately on here Brilliant. I am expecting a few letters in the next couple of weeks hopefully with good news from various claims.:D
You are very welcome, glad to have helped:D
If you have any statements prior to this then you can send copies of these in and they will look at them, if you have not, then i don't know what to tell you i am afraid.:o Not very helpful now?

Does anyone know if it will be worth doing a SAR with Capital One when they have rejected our request for a copy of the signed credit agreement as the card was in arrears it was therefore NOT subject to the consumer credit act section which states you are entitled to a copy? Just wonder if they will spout the same rubbish??
Do the Sar, they are talking tripe:) they do not have to send you a copy of the agreement if the CC is settled, not for the reasons they gave!.
The Sar is best, the agreement may not show ppi, this could have been added at a later date.0 -
I followed the helpful tips on here & sent a letter to Santander 10 days ago to just request a copy of my agreement, yesterday I received a letter to say they were looking into my complaint ????
Today I have received a letter to say they were going to reimburse me £4,931 OMG it only took one letter.
Thankyou Martin if it had'nt been for you i would not have looked into this.:T0 -

however he has contacted both companies in regard to ppi paid before default and he has heard back from one of those companies with an offer of around £400 but they say it not his as it belongs to the loan.is this right?
any thoughts and help appreciated he needs to get back to them asap
many thanks
If they were fully paid off including arrears, then they cannot take this, does he have proof these debts are fully settled?, if he does then he needs to ask what they are taking this redress for and get this in writing to send to FOS.0 -
Hi Everyone. We had a claim upheld in November and paid in December for a loan we had with Lloyds TSB. we thought we were all done until I was paying of the credit card also with Lloyds to see I'd got PPI on it, what, how did that happen!!!! So, I started my claim on 6th of January and have had a letter dated the 12th of January. Do I take my 8 weeks from the 6th or the 12th? Or a third option forget timescales it'll be settled sometime never LOL. I know I've already had some back but this would add a bit more to Hubby's pension pot LOL!!! Yes we no longer think in terms of foreign holidays and new cars the priority is the pension!!!!! How sad is that eh?
Take it from the 7th, they should have received this by then.0 -
Harrysmumamy wrote: »couls someone also help me understand how they are calculating these ppi claims? i understand you get the money back you paid in, do you also get the apr that it was set at and 8% interest? if so is that just calculated at the length of time you had your loan? or is it calculated up to today?
The ppi monthly amount is in the monthly loan payment, you get back the ppi monthly payments you paid back with 8% monthly from the date of the first ppi payment to the date they pay the redress, this is on a decreasing scale as the nearer the redress date the less 8% you get.
The 8% is taxable and if not taken out by the bank you have to inform HMRC.0
