Can anyone help me please?? Is it worth me carrying on and where do I go now??

    Thanks:eek:

    Capital One again!!!!!.
Write back and tell them you disagree with the rejection, reiterate the reasons you were mis sold, you had sick pay etc,did you have life insurance too? if you did these 2 negate most of what the ppi would have covered you for anyway!!,ask them why you would have taken extra cover to go with the safety net you already had,if they do not reconsider, then you will take this to FOS.

Thanks Amersall, I do not have arrears but I do have a balance on the card so just wondered if they just paid card off first. Thanks for your prompt reply :A

yeh, ive just received a letter from rbs and as a goodwill gesture there paying back my ppi, now the thing is i have some left on the credit card, so they are paying all to credit card and i thnk i will have a in credit on my card with the small rest! should do for a few shopings! :)
  • just got a ppi win from RBS, to add to my MBNA, (been told there the 2 best to address ppi with), but Barclaycard! well thats one hell of a story! :( there saying no to my morgan stanley ccard (barclays have took over) on grounds of "we have identified your application was sent by post. At the point of applying for PPI, the process required you to select the specific type of cover you required. In this case, you positively selected the product." so its of to the ombusman with BARCLAYS :(
  • Hello all,

Firstly, I hope I'm not asking questions that have already been done to death, but this is an immense thread to go trawling through.:o

Anyway, to keep it as brief as possible, my main question is this:

I took out a loan with my bank at the end of 2002 over a 5 year term, and was told that the ONLY way I would be given the loan would be if I took out PPI.
Obviously it's a blatant case of mis-selling but am I too late to claim?

Also, could anyone maybe advise on whom the best person at the bank would be to contact if I do pursue this?

Any advice would be VERY much appreciated.:)

Clydesdale Bank.....and I'm still with them, using the same account.

Look here for reasons for mis sell
If any/all apply to you then put a claim in.

    Use this form,number 3.http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
Send it to Clydsdale and keep a copy in case you have to go to FOS.
Do not use the reason for mis sell that you stated in your earlier post, this is hearsay and you have no proof, look at the other reasons and use whatever applies to you.

Give them 14 days to respond and another 6 weeks to give you a final response.
If this ppi was in the loan total, and you pay this in with the loan payment, that is a reason for mis sell,it is front loaded,in effect a loan on a loan that you paid to term end with interest.
  • Please can someone advise me on my next step. I sent in my SAR to RBS with information due on 15/2/2012, I received a letter asking me for info I'd already supplied so I called and spoke to one of their advisors who couldn't find me on the system, then could, promised all my info including credit cards which she could see on the system, so I waited. I then received a letter with 1 loan detail on stating no PPI and my current bank account number as the loan account number saying this was all they could find, I called again and said this isn't the loan information I wanted and the advisor confirmed there was another loan with PPI and would send out the details on next service with TNT, that was Monday, and nothing. In the meantime I've received another letter saying they have no credit cards in my name, when they've already confirmed they have. I've called Natwest and they won't accept a mis-selling claim without a loan account number and say that I have to get this from RBS, they've cashed the cheque and basically I've had nothing relating to the original information I requested, which was everthing they held on me, which I then listed so there could be no confusion. Do you think I'm fighting a losing battle, or are the using delaying tactics hoping I'll give up. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I have been waiting for my SAR received by Nat West 6/11/2011
After delaying tactics , do not recognise your signature 24th December I went to my local bank got my signature verified 4/01/2012 sent recorded delivery and included a very nasty letter of complaint from me copy sent also to CEO.

Last Friday I rang the Data office dealing with my request and what do they tell me !! We have no record of your request , which then infuriated me and mentioned that I had proof of delivery.
    The line went dead !!

After a few minutes they called me back and explained that they have a very heavy backlog !! Oh yea !!

I gave them seven days respond.

Today I have a letter outlining the reason for delay and confirming that they will now send me my data !!

So you see there will be a long and very frustrating wait for some, personally I think I have been a little too tolerant.
