Just got cheque from MBNA . They state they took over A&L awhile ago .Thats who my original claim was with, they said when they took over they sent me a letter asking did i want to still carry on with the PPI. In 2006 this PPI was cancelled & as a gesture of goodwill they paid me .£483 83. No breakdown . Still a win though . i have only waited a week after getting letter from them. It seems mbna are pretty quick especially when just small ammounts.:j0

My first post, so please excuse me if i have posted in the wrong thread. First may i say how wonderful it is to read all the success stories on here.
My question is, i took out a £20000 halifax secured loan in 2005 which was defaulted on, after 8 months i payed off the loan in full approx £24500 would this have included PPI or not as i have no paperwork and no longer bank with the Halifax.
Sorry again if its a stupid question, i am not financially savvy which is why i ended up wiyh this mess.
You could ring Halifax and ask if they can find you, give them as much info as you can,if they cannot find you, they may find you from a SAR

It is possible they cannot find you, then that is £10 that you have lost, but then again if they do find you and you had ppi on this loan,a tenner well spent.

Dear all, have had major ructions with Barclaycard and have been chasing them for months, initially I was rejected but their reason for rejection was I had the PPI explained on the phone when I called to apply for the card??? Considering mine was a postal application I was confused to say the least..I complained and the lady said that she could not understand the rejection letter as the application form had not come back from archive before they sent the reply..considering the application was made 20 years ago I was surprised they still had it..anyways she said that she would put the claim back in for re-work as in her opinion it should have been an upheld, this was in January. Have chased them weekly and have just called them again..the claim has been upheld but the figure just needs to be authorised so they could not tell me the figure over the phone... this should be a lot of money IMO. My question is, if you have a balance on the card, do they pay that off first then give you the balance, or do you get the claim in full?? Many thanks...ps still waiting for money from Bank of Scotland, claim was upheld in August and should have been paid by December.... grrrr but have been assured I should get it by next week although not holding breath..wtg to all winners and to all rejections..don't give up0

If you have arrears they can use this to reduce the balance of the card,if you haven not got arrears it is all yours!!.0 -
They may apply the redress to the card, then issue you a cheque for the redress, the card will then be set right.

Thanks Amersall, I do not have arrears but I do have a balance on the card so just wondered if they just paid card off first. Thanks for your prompt reply :A0 -
I just claimed back over £4000 from my bank for mis-sold MRI (mortgage repayments insurance) going back 21 years, claim goes back from 1991 to 1999, i did have all related paperwork so could prove, posted one letter, got response in 4 weeks, definately recommend trying even if claim is going back years!0

Can anyone help me please?? Is it worth me carrying on and where do I go now??
Thanks:eek:Hi,
I have just received a response from Capital One who have refused to give me a refund on my PPI cover. They have sent back the original form that I filled out and it shows that I did say I wanted PPI cover but I can't remember ticking the box on the form. I was working for the NHS at the time I applied and they didn't bother to find out who my employer was.
I just need some advice as to where to go now or do I not have a leg to stand on. I was not given any information regarding PPI I just thought I would have to have it!.
This is my first no to a refund otherwise I have been very successful!.
Thanks0 -
The PPI refund plus interest appeared in my bank account today :j
I started by obtaining a copy of the credit agreement (in November last year). That confirmed my suspicion that the PPI had been front-loaded, so I then contacted them on the phone and lodged my complaint. I received a letter on 12th January upholding my complaint, I sent back the acceptance with my bank details. I rang to chase them up on Tuesday and today the money was in my account (£202).0 -
