PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi,
Sorry I'm not very good at all these financial things, however I've got a small amount of PPI won back (which I'm happy with), but I notice that it seems that the HMRC must be called to declare.
I had a company do the PPI claim on my behalf (I know, I know) but I can't recall any breakdowns of costs, basically just the amount I'm getting and that's it. Will a breakdown come with the cheques so that I can call the HMRC back?
TIA

I rang Barclaycard regarding my egg loan and the mis sold ppi on the 31/1 they said i would receive a confirmation letter in 5 working days, I received letter today from Barclays dated 17/2 saying following our letter dated 9/2 (which i never recived) they say they have carried out further investigation and are unable to locate a policy in my name, i gave them my previous address, date of birth etc. I have rang Barclays to clarify and they say because they taken all of egg's past accounts they are some they can't locate so therefore my complaint has not been upheld.. what do i do now can someone please advice me. thanks
Was this Egg account closed before Barclays took over?if it was, then contact Egg,give them all info that you can regarding this loan and see if they can find the loan.0 -
Hi
I have received an offer letter from the HSBC, and selected that some of the money will pay off my current loan with them and the rest to be paid into my HSBC current account.
Does anyone know how long this usually takes?
Maybe up to 2 weeks,i am sure someone who has had redress from these will post up the timescale for you.0 -

Hi,
I would encourage everyone if they have/had PPI to please claim. I received 7639.67 from Egg and although I still owe on the Loan it has been deducted from the balance. I have just had a letter from MBNA confirming they are sending a cheque for just over £1600.00 within the next 28 days. These PPI's go back nearly 10 years and I was unaware I even had them and only looked up my statements last year when Martin was on TV etc and all these other companies started advertising. Everyone can do it themselves without having to pay fees. Good luck to all of those who are pursuing these companies. They are very quick to charge for late payments etc so it is good that the ordinary person at last has some form of redress.0 -
Hi everyone, i was wondering if anyone knows the timescale in which HSBC deal with there ppi claims?
I sent it of on the 14th of feb and was wondering whether i should follow it up with a phone call?
Also wondering if i have sent my sars letters of to the right places, i had 2 store cards with ge capital and only just realised they have been taken over by santander lol!
sent them to the ge capital address so hoping they will still deal with the mail.

Thankyou, I complained that I has always been employed and my employee paid sickness pay and would have qualified for redundancy if it had occurred. I was trying to gain information as to the status of my claim and the telephone advisors could not help me and told me that the direct line quoted on the letter had been disconnect due to volume of calls so I email the CEO of HSBC and complained that my experience with Halifax was completly different. I received a response and payment within 7 days of complaining and was approx 5 weeks from start to finish. Good luck with yours
Sorry to jump in on your thread santa, but i am trying to find the email address for the ceo of HSBC, would you have it to hand?
and well done on your claim! excellent news for us who are trying to claim ours back x0 -

Who was the provider: HSBC
How much did you get back: £6300
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1 Letter and form from this website
And then write your brief reclaim tale
I sent a letter with a cheque for £1 as I was unsure if I had PPI on this loan original letter sent 4th October 2011 . HSBC wrote back to me and enclosed the form for me to complete, I had already sent it but I sent it again stating that I was unaware that I had PPI and if I had an option I wouldn't have opted for it as I have sick pay and redundancy benefits at work. I received a letter to say sorry for the delay we are looking into it. ABout a week later received a letter offering £6300 o be paid within 4 weeks. We are thrilled all thanks to this website!! :money:
This fantastic, i sent my letter last week to them, how long once you sent the form in did they get in touch with you? when was the loan from? sorry for all questions just wondering if i stand a chance lol0 -
