Hiya I'm a newbie here I want to make a claim on my virgin credit card which I cancelled the ppi on last summer. How did you make the claim?0 -
We took out a loan in 2006 with ppi and after six months received a letter from the lender to say that they were very sorry but they failed to provide us with the key facts prior to completing the loan.
We didnt understand what it all meant to be honest, but if we were not provided with all the key facts is this good grounds to reclaim our ppi?0 -

Considering mine was a postal application I was confused to say the least..I complained and the lady said that she could not understand the rejection letter as the application form had not come back from archive before they sent the reply..considering the application was made 20 years ago I was surprised they still had it..anyways she said that she would put the claim back in for re-work as in her opinion it should have been an upheld, this was in January. Have chased them weekly and have just called them again..the claim has been upheld but the figure just needs to be authorised so they could not tell me the figure over the phone... this should be a lot of money IMO. My question is, if you have a balance on the card, do they pay that off first then give you the balance, or do you get the claim in full?? Many thanks...ps still waiting for money from Bank of Scotland, claim was upheld in August and should have been paid by December.... grrrr but have been assured I should get it by next week although not holding breath..wtg to all winners and to all rejections..don't give up
Barclaycard refund the money to your card then transfer the SAME amount to the account you nominate on your acceptance letter
Its an in out transaction on your card for some reason
I had a balance on the card at the time and this remained

- I successfully claimed against a 3 year personal loan that I had finished paying off in 2010
- The loan was with Alliance & Leicester (now Santander)
- I received a full repayment of over £3300.00 (inc. interest)
- I received the repayment after a personal submission using MSE's instructions
While travelling overseas I received an anonymous SMS advising that I was entitled to £3600.00 PPI refund, and the instruction to reply with 'Yes'. At first I was shocked how someone could know this (the figure sounded appropriate), but have since learned that this is pretty much a spam message; anyway, it did the trick!
Having returned home I set about investigating whether or not I was indeed entitled, and used this site (many thanks!). As a loan that offered cash-back if no claim was made on PPI, it was pretty much a no-brainer; the principle of the loan offered no option to pass on the insurance - it was a fundamental part of the product and as such, compulsory.
I completed the Ombudsman form, enclosed a covering letter which detailed precisely the payments made, and the original document detailing the loan terms (I was concerned that as A&L had since been taken over by Santander there would be 'issues').
By return I received a letter stating Santander's intention to refund all PPI payments (+ interest) made over the duration of the loan. Great! However the full & final offer detailed in the same letter was for less than 60% of the payments I had calculated to have made!
Instead of screaming and yelling, I replied, thanking them for their agreement to refund my payments in full, and politely pointing out that there must have been a miscalculation; I enclosed bank statements showing my outgoings, so unless they were going to be difficult, there was really nothing they could do but agree to my figures.
Within 10 days I received a letter similar to the first, but this time the offer tallied with my own calculations. I completed their simple forms, and as promised within the letter, the correct amount was credited to my bank account within 10 days. I sent all my postal submissions recorded, just to be safe.
From start to finish the whole process took less than 5 weeks, and only happened thanks to that random 'spam' SMS message!
Thank you MSE, and also the anonymous spam-generating Claims Handler! Seriously folks, follow the instructions on this site - there's no need to pay someone else to do exactly what I did by following the guidance here. And if I can do it, you can too! Good luck!0 -
I am over the moon today I received a letter telling me my claim was a success. I only applied for the refund on 2nd December it wasn't a lot of money only £767.01 on sainsburys credit card. I wrote one letter asking for my details and I sent a letter back asking for the money. i did get a letter saying I did not pay PPI but as you told me it was down as something else CARD CARE. I will also get £338.34 interest total £1105.55. Thank you Martin xx0

Can someone tell me if this loan is classed as a front loaded one.
Cash Loan £9000
Total charge for credit for cash loan £3661 44
Total ammount for cash loan £12661 44
Insurance loan(cash price for ins.)£2432 24
Add Total charge for credit for ins.loan £989 20
Total ammount you pay for ins loan £3421 44
You have to pay the loan and interest by 66 monthly payments of £243 68
Annual percentage Rate 12.9%
Monthly interest rate 1.019%
Total loan £11432 24
Total charge for credit for total loan £4650 64
Total ammount you pay £16082 88
This is exactly how my loan agreement reads . I took this out 2004 & it was paid off 2010. As i said above is this what they call front loaded or single premium . If so & i was to be lucky enough for it to be upheld does anyone know what i would be looking at as a redress. Thankyou i know there are people on here that understand the complexes of these loans. Thanks .0 -
I just wanted to say thanks for the advice on this forum. I used the templates provided and made ppi claims against NatWest for a credit card and against Egg for loans.
Natwest offered £6067 and Egg £9702. It only took filling in the template and sending it off, Egg took approx. 8 weeks while Natwest took the 12 weeks.
Again, thanks for the help and advice. It was a great feeling paying off my car loan and credit cards. For the first time in many years I’m not in debt and this months payday will see me not paying out hundreds in interest payments - happy days.0
