Ask them what info you should receive from a SAR, to be honest, RBS were quick with the info they have given you, they usually have 40 days to gather this info, it could be that someone is looking for the rest of the data.
Sorry, misled you, the 40 days were up on 15/2/2012, and still no information. I've put a complaint in with the FOS and the FSA as the letters RBS are sending me don't comply with the guidlines apparantly. When I told RBS this amazingly my statements have been ordered and will be with me within 7-10 days - really????!!!!0 -

Can someone tell me if this loan is classed as a front loaded one.
Cash Loan £9000
Total charge for credit for cash loan £3661 44
Total ammount for cash loan £12661 44
Insurance loan(cash price for ins.)£2432 24
Add Total charge for credit for ins.loan £989 20
Total ammount you pay for ins loan £3421 44
You have to pay the loan and interest by 66 monthly payments of £243 68
Annual percentage Rate 12.9%
Monthly interest rate 1.019%
Total loan £11432 24
Total charge for credit for total loan £4650 64
Total ammount you pay £16082 88
This is exactly how my loan agreement reads . I took this out 2004 & it was paid off 2010. As i said above is this what they call front loaded or single premium . If so & i was to be lucky enough for it to be upheld does anyone know what i would be looking at as a redress. Thankyou i know there are people on here that understand the complexes of these loans. Thanks .
Hi teleop, yes this is front loaded and if upheld, which it should be, you will get back ALL PPI paid £2432 24 + the interest on the PPI £989 20 + 8% standard interest (which has to be worked out on a spread sheet using a formula) haven't got time to do it for you tonight as going out but off the top of my head going by previous calculations I have done about £900
So approx £4,300Successes

Can I ask a bit of help please.
I just received a rejection from Egg for PPI on a CC which I (have been informed) was purchased on line in Aug 2004.
They state it's their final response and reject due to :
the online process does not require PPI as a condition
does not provide an advisory service
not pre-ticked
provides full t&C's
Is it worth a phone call for Egg to re-consider or straight to FOS?
In Aug 2004 (and even now) i was in full time employment with very generous benefits ( 6 months full pay/6 months half pay for sickness/ 4 years salary death in service)
Very grateful for comments

What were you reclaiming: loan
Who was the provider: Barclays
How much did you get back:
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: phonecall and filled in a questionnaire
And then write your brief reclaim tale
Put claim in october, recieved a letter start of december saying they had upheld complaint and would be in touch within 40 working days.
On day 41 phoned helpline and they said they couldnt tell me anything, e-mailed ceo on day 46 ( and got a phonecall 2 days later (last friday) saying they had e-mailed ppi department and they would keep me informed . recieved money into the bank today :T0 -
£4647 from Barclays Bank - easy....
1. Download the standard FOS form from the Barclays website - availible on here i think..
2. Filled it in, and sent it off mid late Jan sometime. My complaint on the form was basically that i could'nt rember being asked if i wanted it or not, nor was the full amount of PPI clearly stated on any of the documents I received relating to the loan... I also mentioned my situation at the time meant that i really did'nt need the PPI even if i did loose my job (ie I and my partner had savings..). Ham it up as much as you can though! but dont lie if you can help itThis all related to a signle loan i took out in 2006.
3. I also sent a covering letter with the form.
4. Phoned the bank about 2 weeks later to check they got the form (i just phoned the telephone banking number..). They said they had no record yet - but took down some details anyway, and confirmed my account and the complaint (in breif). On the phone the guy also mentioned to me i was paying over draft protection too! He asked me if i want to claim that back, of course i said yes...
5. About 2 weeks ago got a letter saying they had received my complaint, and will deal with it in the timeline as outlined by the FOS.
6. Yesterday i got two offer letters, £3668.02 for the loan, and £979.01 for the over draft protection - all to be paid into my account direct... All i have to do is sign and return a letter confirming i wish to cancel my overdraft protection, else i wont get the £979.01... they even put in a self addressed, postage paid evelope to return the letter to them in !
All in all it was very, very easy.
Now - i know i had a load from them in 2000ish from Barclays - i have no idea how much (exactly), nor if PPI was on it - so where do i start with this onePlus i had a Barclay Card for a while too...:D:D

Hi All, new to this so hope i'm doing this right :-))
I got a letter from MBNA to say that my claim for my Loan PPi had been upheld in my favour and I would hear from them within 6 weeks. Letter was dated 10th January(received it 16th Jan). I heard nothing!! Is this the norm? Am I awaiting an offer letter or just a cheque?
It was for a £5000 loan over 5yrs which I have already paid off.
I'd really like some advice, thanks.0 -
Thanks to the information and templates on here, I have this morning received a cheque for a 5 figure sum from MBNA. Still in shock I think!
I sent the claim form off in mid January, received a letter from MBNA advising the complaint was being upheld on the 13th of February, a further letter from them on the 23rd February advising of a slight amendment to the amount, and the cheque today. Efficient service from MBNA.
Thanks to MSE for the templates and advice and to other posters for information too. Its a very easy process to carry out yourself. This cheque will really sort me out and enable me to move forwards with a clean slate and savings in the bank. It feels marvellous!:D
