HI there
I have been waiting for a few weeks to receive the cheque for my second claim from Halifax.
The first half (£1800) was paid almost immediately after the offer was made, however, the second half (£5700) of the offer has not arrived yet. Offer was made on the 20th of JAn
The interest applied to the amount on the offer was up to the 14th FEb, how long should I wait from the acceptance letter until the send the Cheque?0 -

Type of finance 3 loans, each rolled into the next, 3 years left to run
Date complaint filed 12th Jan 2012 - telephone call to PPI complaint dept, followed up by FOS questionnaire, one for each loan
Complaint reason Single premium front-loaded PPI
Date of response 18th Feb 2012
Turnaround time 5 and a bit weeks for decision to land on the doormat
Complaint upheld, which is rather good news! Tax taken off as seems the norm for these guys. The redress clears the outstanding balance of the loan, which means after years servicing debt I can finally start to save for a house woohoo!
Thanks to everyone on here for the information and positive messages, they may not have been addressed to me necessarily but it gives you the motivation to go out and have a go.
So your only reason was front loaded , thats makes me feel good , i am currently chasing royal bank for front loaded ppi , we were also told that the loan wouldnt be accepted without ppi.
Well done :beer:0 -
PPI reclaiming, sent letter in November for 2 loans for sister in law, she got back £13,400.
Recived ppi back on credit cards, totalling £3000 two years ago.
Most recently sent a letter to HBOS for MPPI from 2002. This was rejected two years ago. Started a new complaint in December 2011, just sent letter again from Martin's templates, and we have just reciceved it all back £7500.
The main reason for the successes are, the banks did not tell us we could have shopped around elsewhere, and we had to take insurance with them. Hopefully this will help others.:j0 -
The loans go back 6-7 years and in theory they were all the same loan which was refinanced each year or so, so in theory NatWest/RBS are looking at them as separate loans.
I'm assuming they have thoroughly looked through the info and the offers are a genuine reflection of what's due? Or am I being nieve?
You won't know if the offer is fair if you don't ask them for the calculations for these refunds.
It seems a little amount for rolled over loan ppi.
Is it possible this could just be for one loan and they are still working out the redress for the others?,as i say,you need to contact them and ask how they worked this out.0 -
Put in a claim from RBS for loan (had acc no and ppi policy no for this one) and asked to investigate loans from 1992 onwards. Didn't have acc no for these or any paperwork. On receiving reply from them they listed all loan acc nos from 1992 but said that due to passage of time they couldn't tell me how much loans were or if I had PPI. Sent away for more info but have got exactly same info back - they can tell me when loans were taken out but no amounts or whether I had PPI or not (I know I did as when 1st taking loan out I had never had any type of credit, they turned me down originally and at that time I went in to see bank manager). Is there any more I can do without paperwork.0

Did you ask for a SAR and pay £10?if you did i don't know where you could go from here to be honest.
Can you find any old paperwork at all regarding these?,maybe old DD details etc?.0 -

I had called my branch at RBS and they had advised me to send for data info that was held on me by RBS. When I asked if I needed to send in £10 was told no that they would send info without? Would a SAR go back as far as 1992? As for DD info again branch told me that they didn't have this dating this far back
On a different claim have been waiting on Barclaycard to get back to me. I should have had decision by 25th Jan but getting runaround. How long do I wait before sending letter/email to ceo.
Sorry for picking your brains and thanks for taking the time answering my previous post0 -
You are welcome, send a SAR to RBS,it may throw up what you need,it may not but it could be worth a tenner.
Send an email to Rob Diamond today!
Good luck.0 -
Joined the other day and posted that NRAM (Northern Rock) had written to me with a resolution letter but that they couldn't tell me anything over the phone.
Had no letter through the post but went my parents house today (for Sunday lunch) and a letter was there from NRAM offering me £772.96, over the moon.
The letter says it is a full PPI refund plus 8% simple interest, I can't remember how much the 2 loans were for but I am still made up. the only thing it says on the letter that worries me is 'please note that interest is paid gross and, depending on your current tax status, it may be necessary for you to inform HMRC of this payment',
Do I have to tell them? And if I did would they take it from me?
Either way, this is a great start, still got a claim in for 4 loans with HSBC (a couple of which were closed early though) and at least one loan and credit card with the AA.0 -

Yes you do have to inform HMRC harrpau7 but you only pay tax on the 8% standard interest, not the whole amount. HMRC will have been informed by the bank so don't risk itSuccesses
