  • After just one letter, I have had confirmation from Northern Rock (NRAM) to say I have been missold PPI and they are refunding £7,058 to me - GET IN!!! Can't believe how easy it was but I won't hold my breath until I see the money in my account lol.

Still waiting to hear from Bank of Scotland - they have acknowledged our claim and are doing further investigations. Looking forward to what they have to say!

    Next stop credit cards ... cha-ching ;D
  • Hi,

I've been through the process with LLoydsTSB themselves - didn't bother with some thieving "PPI CLAIMS handler"..

anyway, i got a letter dated 13/12/11 - saying we will refund you £5400. (Good times)..

Still to date nothing has come through - called the PPI claimsline they said that i wouldnt be getting the money, it would go towards the loan...???

Can they do this? Isnt it MY money?..:(

Some legal advise would be useful..

If you are in arrears they pay them off first.

As only-me says,if you have arrears they can ofset the redress to the loan first.
The 8% though should be given to you,if they dont then ring FOS.
The 8% is taxable if you are a taxpayer,so you will need to contact HMRC to find out how to pay this.

Vicxzy - Yes it was a claim for Virgin/MBNA they were quick at getting back to me as were my EGG, now Barclay. I'll post when I hear from them again, which I hope is soon!

Hi, which address did you send your PPI Compliant form for EGG? I took out a loan and creditcard with EGG, all paid off last year but dont know if I need to send it off to Barclays as they have taken over.

    Many Thanks
  • Hi All,

I am looking for somce advice please.

In August 2006 my gf and I took out a mortgage with RBS for £90,000 100% mortgage. We got the mortgage though a financial advisor and becuase we were having a 100% mortgage we had to pay some form of insurance amount which was not said to be optional. This was approx £2500 which we put on top of the mortgage. So the total amount ws £92,500. The mortgage was a 2 year tracker followed by with a 5 year fixed and a poor 6.24%. We decided to stay with RBS so we never left them.

Today I have called RBS to ask for a statement from 2006 to see what the £2500 was for.

Does this sound like the mortgage insurance payments people have been claiming back?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Hi Cornishman, you need to send your complaint to Barclays, you can call them on 0844 811 9111 and complain over the phone, they will then send you the FOS questionnaire, if you have already completed one, then send to Barclays PPI Dept, Leicester LE87 2BB recorded if you can. They have advised me it will take 8 weeks. Good Luck :)
  • Hi once again many thanks for your response, but I am still at a loss with it all, because I don't know what I was asked, what boxes I ticked whether I was asked if I wanted PPI or anything, I had just seperated from my husband and he had left me with a lot of debt which I needed to clear up - that was the reason for the loan. My head was all over the place so I really cant remember anything, I suppose theres only one way to find out n that to try and see if I can claim anything back. Like I said previously I have no paperwork at all as when I cleared out the loft last year it allwent in the bin! I don't even have the account number for the loan only the last 4 digits and the date it was taken out and the date it was paid off and of course the bank in which I had the loan with. Same as my creidt card with the same bank all I have is the last 4 digits of the account number and the dates it started and it was paid off. ALso you mentioned a SAR - what is that? cheers

Hi, I have claims in with HSBC, The AA (through the Royal Bank Of Scotland) and NRam (Northern Rock). I phoned NRam today and they said an outcome letter has been sent to be and I should get it within 3 working days but they couldn't tell me over the telephone, do you think them not telling me over the phone is good news, bad news or no news?

Hi Pippin18, a SAR is a Subject Request Letter, you can download the template from the internet like I did the other day, I also had a loan that I paid of in 2008 but no longer have the paperwork. By law they have to give you any information held about you, it may cost you a fee of £10 but it's worth it! Hope this helps!
