It was't for a a credit card it was for my mortgage, not sure if it makes any difference, but I will give them a call.
How did you work the 8% out?,this is on a decreasing scale from date of agreement to redress date,it is based on each months ppi payment.

    Look here
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges#step2
go to "how much can i reclaim" bank charge calculator. and put the date, year and month of each individual ppi payment and it will keep a tally of the 8% and the ppi redress, see if that total matches up to the redress they have offered.
You have probably sorted this out now!,hope you have.

Have put in a complaint and questionaire to Barclays for ppi on my overdraft, I have been paying this for the past 14 yrs without even knowing, just thought it was part ofmy overdraft. Anyway I have rang today to get an update for them to tell me my complaint has been rejected due to regulations before 2001!!! What does this mean? can anyone help!!!

Rubbish!! Barclays are using this as an excuse, tell them if they do not reconsider your claim you will take this to FOS as they were under FOS jurisdiction.

Reporting a success with LTSB - this claim was put in during November 2009 and eventually went through the FOS but as it dated from sooooooo long ago (early 1990s) LTSB had no documentation and neither did I (although they sent me ten years worth of statements etc in my DSAR but this only went back to late 1990s), so after many months of wrangling I agreed to accept an offer of £1200. The offer letter came in December 2011 and the cheque arrived yesterday.....56 days from the date of their offer so not too bad :)

Only one more to tackle now with LTSB for DH ;)

    Hi amersall

I got the letter today but nowhere on the letter does it say anything about it being before 2001 as the guy at barclays had said. Just the usual fob off letter saying they do not believe it was missold, anyway this is there 1st and final letter!! The fact that if id even known i had this i would have contacted them in 2008 when i was made redundant. Have rang the ombudsmen and they are sending me out a form and a questionaire!! Is this normal?
    Thanks for all your help
  • hi was wondering if anyone could help. 4 weeks ago i contacted halifax about claiming ppi from credit card. yesterday i received a cheque out of the blue from them without any other communication between me and them. is this right or should i challenge the amount? :)

I am claiming for mis sold ppi from Egg now Barclaycard. I sent claims to Halifax, HSBC and Barclaycard (egg) all at the same time, I have received full responses from the first 2 but nothing from Barclaycard so today I called for an update. Now let me explain I have a slight OCD for keeping on top of things do have called them a few times as I did with Halifax and they were always more than happy to tell me the stage my complaint was at but today yo my horror and disgust the Barclaycard customer advisor went through my security details and then said " bloody hell you've phoned in a few times" omg I could not believe my ears I am not friends with this person nor related to them do am unsure why they felt that they could be so unprofessional and familiar with me. I ended the call but decided to call back because the comments made did not sit right with me to be told by an apologetic colleague of the first individual that they would request an urgent update. I wasnt asking to jump the queue but just to be treated with respect. Let's see how long before I hear from them now

I have just got a cheque from halifax for £2081, sounds ok but when I work out how much I paid ppi per month which was between £50-£61 for 43 months plus the 8% interest this dose not match my cheque! What shall I do, dont see the point of sending it to the obs as it could take a long time to sort out, I was thinking of just calling them to see how they have come to this amount. Any ideas????
My ppi was about £9 per month and I received £1246 so yours does sound low as you were paying about 6 times more than me
