PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Thanks for this Amersall. I telephoned Lloyds TSB on Friday and they said that letters had been sent to me on 26 January. I have not received them. I have requested copies. You said that I should write back and dispute the rejection on the grounds that I did not have PPI. Will they reconsider my case? When I requested copies of the paperwork from Loans Direct, they advised me that they did not hold letters before 2000. All three loans were from the 1990s: two from 1995 and one from 1999. Instead of having an account beginning with 1000 the loan number was linked to bank account and sort code: 87 XX XX 7XXXXXXX. If they cannot provide me copies of these agreements then how can they possibly say that I had no PPI? What proof could they possibly send me to justify their claim that I had no PPI? I am really disappointed in this and especially so when I have read on this forum that people are getting paid £1200 payments on proof of loan account numbers and dates. I had all that. I even sent a print-out of the loans given to me by my branch in Scotland. Thanks again for your support. Right now I feel totally disgusted with them.If they cannot provide me copies of these agreements then how can they possibly say that I had no PPI? Hi Guys
Credit Card
Abbey via MBNA
Reclaimed £2804.57
DH had a credit card with Abbey a few years ago. Thanks to this website we had a look at his finances and decided to reclaim for PPI on the basis that he had been mis-sold it due to being in the Army (which means he would never need to claim for accident/sickness cover as the Army provide full sick pay).
He rang Abbey to advise them of this and they submitted a complaint straight away. Within 2 weeks (yes, 2 weeks, you have read that right!) he recieved a cheque for £2804.57!!!
Good luck to everyone else

Hi, I have not posted before although I am an avid follower. I first used the site in 2010 when from advice I had seen on the site I successfully reclaimed from Santander for a BHS card, a Dorothy perkins card and a debenhams card. Also from marks and Spencer Money for a loan and Nat west for a loan too. Thought myself very lucky and thought no more of it until I got a credit check report from Experian and discovered I had an active account with Creation Financial Services for a store card with MK one. The account is in balance to the princely sum of £1.54 but armed with this knowledge I contacted the customer services dept and a very helpful young lady provided me with mt account number and informed me that i did have insurance with them. She even directed me to the department dealing with PPI complaints. I thought it was all going too well, they responded within 4 weeks saying they could not resolve the situation within thare own 4 week time frame and now have another 4 weeks. As I was receiving incapacity benefit at the time for chronic clinical depression, it is obvious that i was never eligible for PPI. I will be interested to see what they come up with in the next 4 weeks and will keep you posted. This is a marvellous site.0

Hi this is the first time I have posted on this site also and only started using the site recently after a friend telling me it's the best place for advice to reclaim PPI. I have recently sent the questionnaire template from this site to MBNA (Virgin) and Egg (now Barclay card) they have sent a letter saying they would let me know within 8 weeks (15th March?) whether I have a claim or not (after paying PPI for 4 years on both!) What I want to ask is, I also have have a Dorothy Perkins card which I haven't used for over a year, yet I am still paying for "account cover" each month! Is this what you reclaimed? and if so did you just write to them or send the questionnaire? I have no idea how long I have had this account for, but it's many years and no longer have a copy of my agreement. Please advise if you can? Thank you.0 -
Hi melonmoon,
Regarding my dorothy perkins card, my account was still active and it was the PPI I reclaimed, I'm afraid I can not remember what it was referred to as but account cover sounds suspiciously like it. I reclaimed in the days before the FOS questionnaire and so just wrote to them detailing the reasons for missselling. Good luck with your claim.0 -
Thanks Masieboo47. It's worth a try, nothing to lose really!0

First time poster - thought I'd record a wee success!
Virgin/MBNA credit card.
Sent the questionnaire off 3 weeks ago. Beginning of this week received a letter saying they were looking at my complaint and would be in contact within 28 days.
This morning received a letter detailing the following:-
Total amount of PPI premiums charged - 864.81
Total amount of interest associated with premiums - 431.59
Total amount of 8% interest - 8.29
Total amount payable - 1304.69
Again, echoing everyone else. Do it yourself!
Well done! This gives me hope as I sent Virgin/MBNA the questionnaire on 20th, received a letter a week later, still waiting but fingers crossed!0
