[I have recently put claims in for PPI , I have had a few loans over the years with Halifax . Every loan i had i always topped up & each one had PPI on. So after reading success stories on here i thought i would give it a go. The PPI was never needed as i would have been paid for 6 months full pay & 6 half pay. Each loan was done by phone PPI was never discussed. i will keep you informed when anything happens .I am new to this site so i hope i am on right forum.:money:0

Sorry to hear this
:( all this time and you are back to square one!.
Have FOS said what you can do now?,it may be the insurer you have to chase or you may be able to go to FSCS.
I am gutted for your sister, this is disgusting.
Yes, FOS have basically said that there is absolutely no change, so the payments of £261.16-the exact same as my sis was paying whilst the PPI was active-still remain. She's already paid £12,535.68, and if the required payments stay the same, she has a further £3,133.92 to pay. That's nearly £16,000 for a £10,000 loan at 10.89%. This entire process has been a complete waste of time. My sister's condition is deteriorating and there's a very real possibility she will lose her home. I know it sounds daft but even if GE were prepared to follow the Ombudsman's instructions and recalculate the payments made so far, the lower payments would make a huge difference. But from what I've been told, Norton effectively borrowed the loan, and the cost of the PPI from GE, so GE don't really care who repays it, and since Norton have gone bust, nobody gives a hoot that it's then down to a disabled girl to settle the balance.
I spoke to the FSA yesterday who then suggested that we may want to go through the FSCS if Norton go into liquidation.0 -
Newbie, so be gentle with me.
I took a loan out through a broker (CT Capital) who placed it with First Plus back in 2001. Have only just started to claim back my PPI (both working and would of been on full pay for 6 months if sick, plus was given a single policy for a joint loan)
This loan was replaced with a further advance, First Plus in late 2002.
First Plus have acknowledged and investigating their side of it (the further advance) but have wiped their hands with the original loan as this was down to the broker.
Broker have said it is Time Barred and that they werent regulated at the time and have closed down my complaint.
Have got in touch with FOS who are now going to register a complaint with the underwriter (jubilee) so see if i can claim against them.
Any thoughts, success with FOS and or Claim against Underwriters.

It will take time with the underwriter, but hang on in there.
The main mis sell reasons for this loan are
The ppi is on the loan to term end with interest.
The ppi only covers you for 5 years, but the ppi is still on the loan to term end with interest.
You get the ppi back after 5 years, but the ppi is still on the loan to term end with interest.
Win ,win for the company, lose, lose for the consumer.0 -
Can the forum users help me please? I have add several loans with Lloyds TSB over the years: three of the loans were from the 1990s. I contacted Lloyds TSB and was advised that they could not supply me with paperwork going that far back. I found out the loan numbers and made a complaint as I knew I had PPI. I discovered today that they are not going to pay me anything for these loans "as I did not have PPI". How can they say that when they do not have paperwork and I know that I had PPI. I believed that people in this position were paid £1200 as a "gesture of goodwill". Is that not the case? Can someone clarify and let me know what I should do? Thanks.0

Customer Care - should be Customer Beware !. I took out a loan in 2007 for business purposes and reclaimed the PPI in May last year. When I took out the loan it was intimated that no insurance - no loan, so I felt confident of a positive outcome.
No way, after the usual 'looking into it' letters I received a rejection. I wrote requesting they reconsider with no joy, so started off again with the FOS.
In about November last year I realised that I had an earlier loan , again for business purposes dating back to 2003, so made a claim for that. Surprise, surprise, have just received confirmation that they will repay £2,800. They cannot work out precise figures, but are paying the average payout amount agreed with the FOS. I am happy with this.
Back to my claim for the 2007 loan. I recently learnt from a fellow Director at the time that he had instigated a claim through a claims company as he had taken out a loan of exactly the same amount as myself,on eaxctly the same day and had attended the same meeting to make the arrangements.
I now have a copy of his acceptance and have forwarded this to the FOS and Lloyds.
The FOS are very professional. Every email I have sent them they have acknowledged. Customer Care , ziltch !. How long does it take to spin off an email ?.
I do not think Lloyds now have a leg to stand on, so await the outcome of their deliberations with interest. I hope the FOS tell them to pull their finger out !.
I would have given all this up a long time ago except for the persistance of other 'posters' and your excellent team.
So may thanks. I will let you know as and when there is movement on my other claim.0 -

Get back to them and tell them you dispute the rejection of the claim on the grounds "you did not have ppi" as they have no paperwork for these loans, how do they know this? and you would like them to send you proof of "no ppi".0 -
Hello all,
After submitting a complaint to MBNA regarding my credit card mid-January, I received a letter last week to say they were upholding and I received a cheque for £9,600 today.
I am still somewhat in shock! Once the cheque has cleared I will be paying off my two credit cards with £2,500 left over. needless to say I would like to say a huge thank you for all the support, help and encouragement from this forum, and wish everyone the best of luck with their claims
