Thanks for your reply Amersall. What happens if they exceed the 12 week period? Can I then go to FSA or do I have to wait on their response? I realise that, if successful, I will have to wait and wait and wait for my money.
Give them all the time they need,FOS will be well over a year.
If you ring FOS to ask about the wait you are having,i am afraid they will say wait, although at 14 weeks i would ask FOS what to do,as you can complain about the length of time it is taking, dont think this will hurry them up though,FSA and FOS are letting the banks get away with murder lately.0 -
Hi everyone,
Although a separate page has been set up for us via the wonderful Amersall, I thought it was only fair that I share the info I've received with anyone who may be having issues with the same company. I have received notice from the FOS today that Norton Finance have gone into administration, and thus all rulings made by the FOS are now void. This means that even though the FOS had, in our case, instructed Norton and GE to recalculate our repayments so that they reflected the situation we would now be in had the PPI not been sold, since Norton can no longer compensate GE for this loss, the ruling is void and repayments (for us) still remain at the same level as they did whilst PPI was included, even though the PPI has been cancelled. We are unlikely to get any rebate of the PPI premiums paid, even though the Ombudsman provided clear instructions of what was to be done. I have absolutely no idea what to do now, and it just proves that the house does actually win every single time. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Sorry to hear this:( all this time and you are back to square one!.
Have FOS said what you can do now?,it may be the insurer you have to chase or you may be able to go to FSCS.
I am gutted for your sister, this is disgusting.0 -
I have a debenhams store card since 1998. I was sold PPI over the telephone. I have not worked since 1989.I I wrote a letter to santander explaining to them that I could not claim under this policy as I was not working at the time the PPI was taken out and this was not explained to me at the time. I would not knowingly take out insurance which did not apply to me and would be void. They replied back and told me I had no claim but that PPI was a breadwinners policy and the benefits of cover would be transferred to my partner. They are now asking for evidence of unemployment and copies of national insurance contributions for both myself and my partner. They also inform me that this is their final response. As this PPI was sold me to and nothing to do with my partner I feel they are fobbing me off.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
If he would not have been covered you need to put this in writing to them, give them the info they have asked you for too,if you were unemployed this will show this, and see what they come back with.0 -
Can you remember who the car dealer was? they may have info, again they may not,but your claim will have to be sent to the car dealer in the first instance anyway,so contact them and say you want to put a claim in for mis sell ppi,it is a long shot, but you don't know until you try.
Look here for reasons for mis sell

Hi
I have had an on-going battle re my Frasercard, GE Money and more recently Santander, I have written three times, each time they have declined saying that I had not been missold and had no case. Then in the post yesterday I had a letter from them saying that they think that I may be entitled to a refund as I have in the passed been given incorrect information, enclosed with the letter was a form which asked for very limited information about why I contacted them and why I think that I was missold, or should have a refund - pertaining to a conversation in July 2007 (which I can not recall) Has anyone else had such communication - should I be this happy..... phoned and they said that I would have a reply within seven working days of receipt!!:j0 -

Hi gonna get there. I can only advise on the Sainsbury's loan agreement and at the time 2004 the PPI was front loaded and as I state everything was done to disguise the fact that you were paying it. If you can dig out the original agreement check out the points that I have mentioned. Front loaded PPI is a big NO NO and along with the sections being either auto filled or left blank, they didn't have much option to put their hands up. Sending it out by courier and only giving you 15 minutes to sign is pressurisation in my opinionSuccesses

Massive Thankyou to Martin!
We sent in our PpI claim to Natwest for an active loan just before Christmas, we received a letter yesterday telling us they had investigated all of our previous loans too and they owe us £11,000 and they have cancelled the PPi on the loan. We are in shock still but massively ecstatic as this will basically clear all of our debt apart from the little we have left of the loan. Can't thank you enough!0 -
£620 was put into my account this morning from Welcome Finance. I'm so happy. It took less than three weeks. Thank you so much for all your help :beer:0
