PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi everyone,
Although a separate page has been set up for us via the wonderful Amersall, I thought it was only fair that I share the info I've received with anyone who may be having issues with the same company. I have received notice from the FOS today that Norton Finance have gone into administration, and thus all rulings made by the FOS are now void. This means that even though the FOS had, in our case, instructed Norton and GE to recalculate our repayments so that they reflected the situation we would now be in had the PPI not been sold, since Norton can no longer compensate GE for this loss, the ruling is void and repayments (for us) still remain at the same level as they did whilst PPI was included, even though the PPI has been cancelled. We are unlikely to get any rebate of the PPI premiums paid, even though the Ombudsman provided clear instructions of what was to be done. I have absolutely no idea what to do now, and it just proves that the house does actually win every single time. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.0 -
I have got a PPI claim going through at the moment, I have a claims management team handling it. Has anyone heard of CLAIMS ANGEL? they are doing it for me,,, i am keen to know if anyone else has used them and had good or bad experiences...I no longer work for Natwest, I left in 2012. But i can't change my name..0

We don't advise the use of claims companies on this site, they do NO MORE than you can do yourself and take a minimum of 20% + vat for doing exactly what you can do on your own (fill a form in and post it)
Put it this way if you get £10,000 redress you will get a bill for upwards of £2,200 for them to put a stamp on a letter, which you could have done yourself, and you will have to do the donkey work for them. They can not get you any more than you are entitled to and have no better success rate and will probably take longer to do it.
In fact if you are in arrears with a loan it can end up costing you money and not see a single penny of what you are entitled to.
I hope you are successful. No win , no fee might sound good but it isn't.Successes

My husband set up a Cahoot Flexible Loan in 2005 over the internet for a 10k loan. In 2008 I noticed that there was a PPI charge which actually meant that there was nothing being paid off the loan and the monthly installments were just servicing the debt. We were annoyed about this but did nothing at the time apart from instantly cancelling the PPI, which my husband wasn't even aware he had on the account.
I had been meaning to do something about complaining but I hadn't got round to it until my husband applied to an agency to reclaim the PPI, there fee would of been 49%, this spurred me on. After all this time it was so simple, I downloaded the form, filled it in and sent it off. Two weeks later I have a letter offering £3,405.55 refund. Thank you money saving expert0 -

I've been waiting around 4 weeks now since getting a letter from Natwest that they received my form - but just wondering if they respond within 12 weeks or if it's longer.
Thanks
Hi

thanks..i got a letter first saying they've received my quote. then a text saying same. 8 weeks later a letter with offer followed by text then today saying the payment has been sent. did you give your mobile number?
cheers
Thanks for coming back on this. Yeh I registered the complaint on the phone following up with the FOS questionnaire by post, they took my mobile number as I remember the guy saying they may need to contact me to discuss the details. No texts yet, oh well, 4 weeks since the complaint was registered so there's a way to go yet. I have seen some people getting upheld in 4 weeks on here with NatWest where they logged the complaint shortly before I did, but I'll not hold my breath!

It has taken 12 weeks for my complaint to be resolved so hang tight.
Barclays are proving more problematic. they seem to have a cynical delaying tactic so i have a case at the FOS and another one in the system with Barclays.0 -
MBNA FOS success
Have been fighting them for 12 months now, and got turned down so went to the FOS. Upheld by FOS just got the figures in the post and fell off my chair. I was thinking £6000 at the best opened the letter and it was £16105,83 WOW. Will make me debt free.
Total PPI premiums charged £4,390.24
Total interest associated with PPI £7,489.54
8% amount £4,226.05
Total amount £16,105.83
Now waiting on Barclaycard.

I took a loan out for a car over 10 years ago, but can't remember who the loan was with. I remember I paid PPI on the loan. Is there any way I can find out who the loan was with..? Is this information kept somewhere against your name?0
