have sent an email to barclays regarding barclaycard claim has anyone else emailed them and if so did you receive a reply or have i wasted my time. claim turned down because of pre ticked box reason but hav disputed this giving all the reasons of mis selling as given on this page further back had 2 other claims with m an s and lloyds both upheld under same circumstances so cant see why barclaycard rejected this one i am not a greedy person but it is the principle of the matter for years i was paying for something of no use to me what soever.I have also witten a letter of complaint to their customer service department but havnt had chance to send it yet

A big, BIG thank you to all who have posted here on the MSE Forum!

After regularly reading the success stories posted here, I bit the bullet on behalf of my partner and sent off claims for seven loans he had with the HSBC going back to the early 90's!

I originally only had details of three of them and the HSBC very kindly, without prompting, sent me details of the others.

First letter was sent off in November, mid January we received a letter stating they were still looking into it...... Yesterday, we had a letter confirming they were upholding the complaints!

Result - £7,000 !!!!!!

If you are thinking about it, DO IT! Dont use a claims company... you will still have to do the leg work yourself and for what?? A fee of 30% or more!!! Its madness!

Having lurked on here for quite a while, I just wanted to pop on to share my success story.

I sent my forms off just before Christmas to HSBC regarding PPI paid on 5 loans between 2000 and 2007. On Friday 03/02/12, I received a letter to say they were upholding my complaint and would pay me £4508.90 - I sent my acceptance letter back on 04/02/12 and the money was in my account yesterday (07/02/12)

I was all set for the long haul and can't believe how much I have received back so quickly!!

Thank You for all the advice on here - I wouldn't have known where to start with my claim if it hadn't have been for this site and forum. Now I plan to start looking at my credit cards too!!

One letter to Llyods TSB regarding PPI on a mortgage. I wasnt going to bother as i only had the insurance for a couple of years and that was in 1998.
Got a letter back today offering £547.21
Soo Glad i did it now, so easy and didnt take anytime at all!!

Wonder if you can help. I have today had a rejection letter from Barclaycard regarding an Egg card I took with PPI or credit card protection as it states on my old statements. I took the card out in 2000 and specifically remember the box being pre-ticked and I had to speak with Egg over the telephone as this would not let me proceed. I have to date received over £10,000 in 2 other PPI claims but I cannot understand why this one has been rejected! Anyone offer me any advice!??

just got letter back from welcome finance we are now £1,456.04 better off, we still owe £200 but going to get that paid off this month.

I recently had a visit from a young lady at work who was telling me about three success stories of PPI claims with Lloyds TSB who i bank with for many many. She gave me the address to write to myself.

I phoned first but only got past around the last person i spoke to told me to get my loan Ref No. then write to the address which was given to me.

Which i did a one paragraph letter saying that i believe that i was mis sold PPI and was not informed that it was optional nor did i no i could refuse, i put my two loan reference no's one that was active that i took out 2007 and one inactive i took out 2003 and said i await your reply this was middle of december i received a letter the following week letting me no that they are looking into it and it could take up 12 weeks.

Near the end of January I received a letter apologising and an offer of £6,722. which was paid into my bank account last week needless to say i cleared my loan that i only had 3 mths payment left. So now i'm loan free.

I wonder if Forum users could help please. Are Lloyds TSB replying to complaints within the 12 week time frame? If they do not reply within the 12 weeks, what can I do? My brother and I receieved acknowledgments on 1 and 5 December respectively but haven't heard anything since. I realise that currently it is only 10 weeks but I was just wondering if others have had similar experiences who contacted Lloyds TSB around the same time as me/us.

Also, could I ask another question please? I read a few months ago about some people receiving £1200 from Lloyds TSB as "a gesture of goodwill". Does anyone know what this is for?

Just wanted to say amassive thankyou for all the help and advice received on this forum, especially to amersall. We had a letter on Saturday to say that nemo were refunding the ppi premium plus interest to the tune of £3249, resetting the loan as if we had never taken out the ppi, which in turn makes our payments £54 a month less. Once again thanks :beer:
