    Ammersall - out of 4 claims, I have had one success - with First Direct - paid out £5k in August 2011. Egg, M&S Money & Capital One all issued rejection (final decision) letters on the basis that I must have known etc. as I signed the application etc etc... Most of the rejection letters contain information which is factually wrong so I have submitted complaints to the FOS on all three. Any idea how long this will take? It is very frustrating but I am banking on about a year - has anybody out there has actually had any success via FOS route in relation to one Egg/M&S Money/Capital One? I did revert to M&S and EGG to dispute their final decision but to no avail!!!

    Just wondered if you had heard anything yet? I spoke to them a number of days ago and they said they were still looking into it, but that I might receive a cheque direct from the bank. Absolutely nothing as yet.

    hi, i have heard nothing at all. still waiting and not bothering to hold my breath!
  • Hi,

    Can anybody please help?

    Sent a loan PPI complaint to MBNA, received a letter on the 30th December saying it was being upheld and they would contact me with a figure and money. So far I've heard nothing. Does anybody have any advice on how to chase them along?

    Also sent one PPI claim to Barclaycard for Goldfish credit card I had. Sent it on the 14/11/11 and still waiting for my final response. Every time I cal I get a different as why it’s taking so long.

    Sorry,just seen your post!.

    What were the reasons they gave for rejecting,what "sufficient paperwork" do you have regarding this and was this the final response from them?.

    I phoned barclays and they have said they have sent a letter out regarding rejection,which i havent received as yet! Not a happy bunny at all,as i told them after sending in ombusman letter to them that i had found further paperwork even my ppi opening letter from morgan stanley and closure of the account letter but they said,no its ok we dont need them,we have enough evidence what weve found! It made me think, well im onto a winner,not so! Talk about crooks :-(
  • Hi

    Try sending them a list of dates and time on the phone to then chasing the outstanding payment and ask for reimburcement for the phone calls and for the worry they might send you additional money.

    worked for me....

    I have put refund claims into egg now barclaycard and Hsbc for credit card ppi. I have contacted both for an update today and received the same response...." I can't give you an update but I can see its been worked on today".... Please I may have been stupid in the past but I'm not now!! Does anyone have any email addresses I can fire off to as Halifax were 4 weeks from initial claim through to cheque receive and these 2 are turning out to be pathetic jokers!!
  • hi all,
    i have just started claiming my ppi, after reading all the advice and information on this site. the problem i am having is with Barclaycard (egg cc) I have been given four differnt contact numbers and then get passed on and the line goes dead. I have been told because my egg card is with recoverys (i am on DMP) its a differnt contact number but then can't get through.... Can somebody please advice me on what to do next. Thanks

    have you heard anything back from the fos or opus?

    Left a similar post for you a couple of days ago. Have heard absolutely nothing from anyone. I rang the FOS on Friday last week and they said that Opus said they were sorting out their claims, but didn't say if that included mine!
    They say they are onto it - the FOS but they don't ever seem to have any new or different information . They said a few weeks ago that I may just hear from the bank. I always hope the postman will bring something but to date NIL.

    Well my 12 week odyssey has come to an end (almost).

    RBS = £384
    RBS = £750
    RBS = £250
    Northern Rock = £50
    Santander = £10

    RBS = No PPI
    MBNA = No PPI
    Santander = Rejected - challenged - Rejected - TBC
    Cahoot = No PPI
    Egg - Rejected- challenged - rejected - FOS - Waiting...

    I got back about £1450 for maybe 15 hours work overall. Not Bad.

    Wifey.

    MBNA -rejected - challenged - £3780
    RBS Mint - £1280
    Santander - £1240
    Halifax - £1150
    Cap One - £125

    Next - No PPI
    Barclays - Rejected - Challenged - ??:mad:
    Barclays egg - TBC:cool:
    M & S Money - TBC:cool:
    M & S - Rejected - Challenged - Rejected - FOS....:mad:

    Wifey got back about £7500, again from few hours effort.:beer::j

    Really hope I get a win with Egg as had that card 10 years from 2000, does anyone know if they had pre selected "opt out" boxes online at that time? With the FOS now so hopefully they will negotiate me a good win. Anyone had FOS with Egg and won??

    Thanks to the numerous Di's and Amersall and everyone who has posted and provided experience and tidbits I have used,

    Fingers crossed for some family members and a couple of friends I have helped with their PPI'S!!

  • I put in a complaint to Bank Of Scotland in September for 2 seperate credit cards. One was a Sainsbury's CC and the other a BOS Unifi CC. I sent them in seperate envelopes with all seperate paperwork. I received the acknowledgement letter for both on 16th and 19th September. On the 12th December ( nearly 12 weeks, exactly) I received an offer letter for the Sainsburys card, stating that they would issue a chq within so many days if they did not hear from me. I received the chq on the 20th December and was well pleased. As I had not heard anything about the BOS Unifi card I telephoned on 22nd December and was told that an error had occured and the two complaints had been put together as one, and therefore both were now showing as completed and closed. They said they would open the BOS Unifi complaint again, and I should here within 28 days, which I said was not really acceptable as I had not made the error. I have subsequently tel each week since christmas to be told each week that the 28 days has started from the previous weeks tel call. Does anyone know how I stand regarding this, and whether there is anyone else I can contact or email, as they admitted the error in December when the 12 wks were up, and they are just extending the deadline each week, and no one is looking into the case.
    The bloke tonite said I could go to the ombudsman if I wanted to. Is that there way of getting us off their backs, as they know it would take at least a year to go through them.
    Any advise, guidence would be appreciated.
