Hi reallyangrynow
Be prepared for more delaying tactics from Barclays. I have currently three complaints that are now with FOS relating to a Barclaycard, Morgan Stanley cc and Mercantile Credit loans (all fall under the Barclays umbrella). In my experience Barclays have been the worst to deal with.
All the best with your claim.0 -
I'm thinking of sending my bank a letter every six weeks or so stating that my loan with them is very important to me and that I fully intend to make a payment to them at some point in the future, and that whilst I will endeavour to work within the timeframes set out by the courts of the land I am a very busy person and so cannot be expected to meet deadlines.
Yeah, right, wonder how far that would get me...
The Lloyds debacle is a disgrace and, whilst it doesn't help those such as yourself awaiting money, there should be some penalty against them for it - they appear to be acting with impunity whilst other banks etc., at least appear to be making a reasonable effort now.
Hi blairrowland & Pauly_1,
I had a letter off Lloyds on 22 September offering me £644, they said it would be paid directly into my bank account..... I'm still waiting!!
I have called them numerous times (I think they are re-couping all of their money through the cost of the telephone calls everyone is making to them!).
I can't get any answers, all I am ever told is that they are dealing with it and to keep checking my bank account.
I sent them a letter this morning to ask what is happening.
I have just had a £395 electricity bill through the door this morning, it would be nice to have the money to help pay that!
I don't really know what else I can do now to make them hurry up?
Anyone else got any ideas?0 -
It took just one letter to Santander on behalf of my sister to receive a payout for a ppi on her loan which she was sold over the phone. So it's well worth your while to persue ppi claim back. They have paid her £4116 and it only took 3 weeks from start to finish. Couldn't have done it without the help on this website. Thank you.0

Please Can someone help!
My partner took an HSBC personal loan out 8 years ago, it was her name only but the sales person said, if in the event of her death her parents (at that time next of kin) would become responsible for paying the loan, which is why she took the PPI on loan. Is this correct? i always thought a personal loan died if the person died.
Any help would be reall great.
Thanks0 -

No one else can be made to repay this debt, only if it is a joint loan or mortgage.
Look here for other reasons mis sell too.

See if anymore apply too,if she was told this by the "salesperson" this would be her word against the bank as this is hearsay, have other reasons ready as well as this one.0 -
Hello all,
It is only my second post here but can I just say the help and advice here - along with the support and sense of encouragement - has been wonderful.
The middle of january I put a complaint into MBNA regarding a loan and a credit card, one to HSBC re a loan and one to RBS for a credit card.
Today I had a letter from MBNA regarding my credit card stating they are refunding me £9,648 in the next 28 days. To say I am speechless is an understatement! I actually spilt my tea on the letter.....
A huge thank you to everyone who has offered invaluable help and support and spurred me on to put a complaint in. My main reason for the claim was my job had good sickness and unemployment cover.
I am now waiting to response from the other complaints, but at the moment I sort of feel if they don't come off, I really dont mind!
Thank you all again

I was not going to bother attempting to reclaim PPI. I took out a loan (online) with the AA in 2002/2004 and assumed that I was out of time, i had shredded my loan agreement and had no idea what my agreement number was. Last month, I called the AA and after being transferred to three different departments (i almost gave up) and eventually the bank of scotland, they found my loan agreement number and confirmed that I had paid PPI. I was then given another number to call and it took all of 5mins to lodge my complaint (I was never informed that I was paying ppi). Today, i received a letter confirming that they were sending me a cheque for £6k. I was shocked! Honestly, i just took a chance but it was worth it! So if you applied online for a AA loan in 2002 onwards, then you should contact them. There is no need to go through a no win, no fee company. Just contact the bank/loan company directly. Thank you for your invaluable advice moneysavingexpert.com :j0
