  • Got a response from HSBC today, they are upholding my claim to the tune of £7.5k, I bank with them and hadn't heard from them after sending letter recorded on 11th Jan, so e=mailed CEO saying I was unhappy that I did not receive an acknowledgement to my complaint, 20 mins later an e-mail from his office apologising and saying it would be passed onto the senior manager at ppi claims, he called the next day to apologise and said I would have a full response within 5 days, 3 days later an offer letter for the above amount, once signed and returned it will be transferred into by bank account, Happy Days, thanks everyone.
  • does every body receive ppi rebate when paying off loan early? i dont remember receiving this im sure i got a rebate regarding interest

Wrote this morning that I was just waiting on credit cards, and got home this afternoon to a win from Bank of Scotland credit card for £6.7k - very happy and they have been easy to deal with, put in claim 21st December.

New running total = £30, 695 of wins

I had this with Natwest for a while, it started to become infuriating  All I can suggest is to phone them occasionally (I did so about every 5 - 7 days), be polite but insistant that you get an answer and not a cliche - if there is a delay after the date you were quoted, why is that? Is it something to do with your claim or is it a general issue? What are they doing to resolve the issue? These are all fair questions to ask.

The main thing is to be calm and talk to the person on the other end - most of the people I spoke to in this way really tried to be helpful - now that doesn't necessarily mean that they got the job done! You are hoping for someone who is both helpful and good at their job, and they are a little harder to find!
  • Hi All,

Thought I'd share an MBNA CC success story.

Had PPI, phoned them direct. 15mins on the phone, no difficult questions !.
1 week Later = Letter saying they are dealing with my complaint
2 weeks Later = Letter saying they will uphold my complaint and I will receive a cheque
3 weeks Later = CHEQUE on doormat.

No need for these daylight robbers who charge an upfront fee and take 30% of the final. Do it yourself, and be polite.

The banks have dedicated teams to deal with PPI reclaims, they are almost waiting for your call.

Good Luck and get back whats owed :cool::cool:

Wow that's fantastic news, can I ask what your reason for mis sell was?
  • Certainly, I filled out on the form that I was employed and would have had 6month full pay, 6 months half pay and then ssp. also said that I was informed when getting loans credit card, my application was more likely to be accepted if I took PPI and was not really told it was optional.

    Hope that helps
