a huge thank you to everyone on this board. I have put in three claims one with hsbc, egg loan and barclays for mortgage ppi. I recieved a letter from Hsbc today and they looked into all my loans (even though they sent a letter saying i would have to send a letter for each loan, which i hadnt got round to doing) and they have upheld my claim and are giving me £6,260.15! Couldnt believe it was expecting £1000 at most. Anyone reading all these posts wondering if they should claim, do it. It has cost me 3 first class stamps and i have still got the other 2 companies to hear from.
Hi congratulations, how long has it taken for HSBC to give you their answer and what was your reason for mis sell...I've sent 3 ppi numbers in and am curious0 -

This is pretty much my first time of writing on this site so firstly i would like to say a big THANK YOU to all who contribute - you have so far helped me to claim just over £2000 from 2 separate Banks (Lloyds TSB and Northern Rock - NR actually approached me, which was strange).
However i am now coming up against Barclaycard who have declined (final response) my claim on the basis that:
"We have identified that you PPI was submitted online. At this point of applying for PPI, the process required you to select the specific type of cover you required. In this case, you positively selected the product"
"In addition we have conducted a review into the documentation you viewed during the sale. We are satisfied that the documentation presented accurately described the scope of the policy, and was sufficient to provide you with all of the information necessary to inform you of the terms and conditions of the policy".
My claim was based on the fact that I would have received full sick/accident pay from my employer and therefore the policy was unsuitable and irrelevant to me. I also mentioned that i felt the relevant information was not supplied to state that being eligible for full sick pay meant that the policy would not be needed.
Surely if the the above could be queried by them with evidence of information at the time then they would prove it with evidence of said material?
Can anyone please tell me the best route to go down now? Do i have a leg to stand on with the FOS?
One last thing that they mention that could possibly stand in my favour is that they say
"The PPI cover is still active on your account"
This however is not true - that account was cleared and I hold a completely new card with them now which contains no PPI at all. Does this mean I still have a shot as they clearly have this part wrong.
Thanks

sorry - i should add that the other two claims mentioned above were claims for the exact same reasons as the barclaycard claim - it is just stat the other two were in-store and not online thus making it easier to claim.
Is this rejection originally barclaycard or was it egg and is now owned by barclaycard...I'm interested cause I've submitted to them to and am yet to hear back...what year was your online application?0 -

BarclayCard - Although i have very little evidence of this application i have barclaycard statements from 2008 - hope this helps.
