I had a Halifax credit card that I havent used for a very long time I phoned up about 3 weeks ago to look into PPI. They put me through to a dept who fills the paperwork in for you and today I am very happy to say I have £938.79 back whoo hooo! got the bit between my teeth now!! look out Capital One.................

Have you actually received the refund or just the letter confirming you'll be getting it. My letter came yesterday but some people on here are still waiting 8 weeks later for their money
  • Hi,

    Looking for some advice.

    I had 3 loans with RBS going back to 1994, 95 & 96.

The first one was for £1500 over 12 months paying back £137.81 per month. I paid 8 months then I consolidated it with another loan.

The 2nd loan I got was for £1050 and I paid back £98.51 for 12 months. Then the 3rd loan I had was for £1000 & I paid back £93.67 over 12 months.

As the loans are so long ago, the bank cant locate any of the loan agreements so I dont know if I had PPI on these?

Can someone have a look at these figures and tell me what they think?

    Thanks!
  • Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss eventually after two months of waiting have just had a call from the CEO office from Halifax to say my cheque was posted yesterday so should get it next week, don't know if any extra interest was added on, doubt it though and to be honest I'm not bothered after waiting so long for the cheque.

I cannot believe it! I have just been offered £6,071.00 by Co-operative Bank for missold PPI. Amazing. I absolutely advise anyone who thinks that they have a claim not to use the claims companies out there and follow the advice on this website insteaad. I did and look what I got. All I did was fill the form in and posted if off. Minimal expense and effort. I have a few more claims in so see what happens. Anybody know how long Barclay/Woolwich take to reply? Sent a form off to them before christmas and havent even had a acknowledgement letter.
    Thank you Money Saving Expert:beer:

    Well done :j:j
You should have had an acknowledgement by now from Barclays!! ring them and ask if they received your claim.

Looks like you paid something extra with these.

    Loan 1..£125 a month, extra paid=£12.81 pm over term=£153.72
    Loan 2..£87.50 a month,extra paid=£11.01 pm over term=£132.12
    loan 3..83.33 a month,extra paid=£10.34 pm=£124.08.

It looks like this extra a month could be ppi.
When you settled one with another, you will have had a rebate of the ppi,if you win redress these amounts will be taken back.

Do you have the account numbers?,if you do then look here for reasons for mis sell

if any/all apply to you, then put a claim in.

    Thanks Amersall.

I thought the extra amounts on the loans were for interest?

I do have the account numbers so I will send a claim in for each of them.

Just out of curiousity, if my claims are successful how much do you reckon I will get back?

Well done and congrats to all winners this week :T:T:T:T:T:T:T

  • Hello,

This is pretty much my first time of writing on this site so firstly i would like to say a big THANK YOU to all who contribute - you have so far helped me to claim just over £2000 from 2 separate Banks (Lloyds TSB and Northern Rock - NR actually approached me, which was strange).

However i am now coming up against Barclaycard who have declined (final response) my claim on the basis that:

"We have identified that you PPI was submitted online. At this point of applying for PPI, the process required you to select the specific type of cover you required. In this case, you positively selected the product"

"In addition we have conducted a review into the documentation you viewed during the sale. We are satisfied that the documentation presented accurately described the scope of the policy, and was sufficient to provide you with all of the information necessary to inform you of the terms and conditions of the policy".

My claim was based on the fact that I would have received full sick/accident pay from my employer and therefore the policy was unsuitable and irrelevant to me. I also mentioned that i felt the relevant information was not supplied to state that being eligible for full sick pay meant that the policy would not be needed.
Surely if the the above could be queried by them with evidence of information at the time then they would prove it with evidence of said material?

Can anyone please tell me the best route to go down now? Do i have a leg to stand on with the FOS?

One last thing that they mention that could possibly stand in my favour is that they say

"The PPI cover is still active on your account"

This however is not true - that account was cleared and I hold a completely new card with them now which contains no PPI at all. Does this mean I still have a shot as they clearly have this part wrong.

    Thanks
    cheesetony

sorry - i should add that the other two claims mentioned above were claims for the exact same reasons as the barclaycard claim - it is just stat the other two were in-store and not online thus making it easier to claim.
