does every body receive ppi rebate when paying off loan early? i dont remember receiving this im sure i got a rebate regarding interest

This depends how long the loan ran for,you get less of a rebate of the ppi the nearer the term end.
As your loans were settled in a year, they would have given you a decent rebate of the ppi, this would have reduced the settlement figure.

Hi folks, having a bit of bother with my morgan stanley/barclaycard ppi claim (morgan stanley ccard that barclaystook over). After numerous letter, i was then told i would be receive decision about my claim by 31st January! well surprise sursprise!, its past, ive phoned them up on numerous occasions to which all i get back is "were still investigating"! gggrrrr, what should i do next folks? or what am i doing wrong! was so happy when won my 1st mbna claim, but now! well :(

When did you put this claim in?,this will depend on how long they have to give you a final response,if that time has passed, phone them again and tell them if you dont have the final response to you within 14 days, you will pass this to FOS.

    Hi All

Anyone that has any advice for me, greatly appreciated.

I took out a loan with A & L about 12 years ago and wanted to oursue a claim for mis sold PPI, I contacted Santander Archive department and they have informed me that after 6 years archived files get destroyed??? They have told me unless I have the original agreement then they cannot help me??

Do I have a case at all?

When did the loan finish,if it was 12 years ago,i dont think they will have this info, you could try a SAR

Dont forget to include the £10 that this will cost, give them 40 days to get any data to you.
This may not work due to the timescale but then again,it may.

Judging by the threads I've been reading on here I can see Lloyds are dragging their heels. Is anybody else waiting on their cheques or payments to come through? My claim went in about November but had letters of final responses with amounts that i am owed early January to say not to worry that payment would be sorted soon. How soon do they mean????
    Getting angry now!!!

I'm thinking of sending my bank a letter every six weeks or so stating that my loan with them is very important to me and that I fully intend to make a payment to them at some point in the future, and that whilst I will endeavour to work within the timeframes set out by the courts of the land I am a very busy person and so cannot be expected to meet deadlines.

Yeah, right, wonder how far that would get me...

The Lloyds debacle is a disgrace and, whilst it doesn't help those such as yourself awaiting money, there should be some penalty against them for it - they appear to be acting with impunity whilst other banks etc., at least appear to be making a reasonable effort now.

    Hi ,
I successfully claimed for two old loans dating back to 1999 and 2003 , see my post dated 31/01/2012 , I did not have the original agreement but I did have the loan account numbers , I am just waiting for my payment now , sent the forms back last week , I think they may be fobbing you off , I would go back to them as they are not being very co-operative .They must have your records as when I got my offer letter there was enclosed a very detailed breakdown of payments / date's and interest calculations .:) Might be worth sending your compalint via recorded letter ,
I wish you the best of luck :-) x
  • Hello everyone

please can you help i am wanting to claim on behalf of my mother she bought a sofa from dfs and the ppi is on the paperwork i was there with her at the time and ppi was not explained we didnt even know she had it, i have all of the paperwork but what letter template should i use and do i write to dfs ??? I am a first timer to this and this is spinning around in my head and i dont know what to do

    thank you in advance :o)

Hi, I sent a letter to DFS regarding mine but I didn't have any paperwork, they said that they couldn't help me at first but I persisted and they found my information on their computer but needed proof that I had paid the full monthly payments including ppi so I had to get copy bank statements from my bank, which I did and I posted them off with a letter and am subsequently waiting them getting back to me. Instead of writing a letter give them a call on their customer services number (via contact us on their website) and they may be able to help you sooner. Hope this helps, good luck, Di x
