After advice from this forum (thanks beamerguy), I emailed Bob Diamond as I wasn't getting any joy from their PPI Dept. I received an email last Thursday from Dinesh Hundalani Customer Relations Manager, Barclays Specialist Complaints - Head Office stating
"I write further to your email of 17 January addressed to our Chief Executive Officer, Bob Diamond. I have been asked to reply on Mr Diamond’s behalf.

I’m sorry that you’ve had cause to complain. I have forwarded your concerns to the relevant department, who will be in contact with you directly. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me for an update."
Then on Saturday, I received letter offering me £3,774 as a full refund for my OD protection and the money was in my account.:T

Also on Saturday, my OH had his complaint upheld for PPI on his Natwest Blackcard and a goodwill offer of £7900!:j

That is my PPI journey(August 2011-Jan 2012) finished now.
    Barclayloans £8,300 paid
    BOS loan £9,341 paid
    Barclays OD protection £3,774 paid

    OH's PPI journey continues......
    so far he has
    MBNA £4,159 paid
Natwest Black card £7,900 waiting for payment
Halifax Mastercard & Visa card, Lloyds TSB Card and a Black Horse loan to go!
Keep up the good work Martin and everyone else on this wonderful site.:T:T

    Congratulations on your results!

Would you mind letting me know the Barclays e-mail address you wrote to as I have been phoning the PPI dept almost weekly since October just to be told 'no idea when my complaint will be dealt with!'...my original complaint went in last June and in Oct I was offered a £500 goodwill gesture or 'an accurate redress' if I submitted further evidence, which I did.

I just want to know when I can expect a response,

    Thank you!

    Thanks amersall

    Onwards we go!

This one will be a big claim if upheld, due to the amount of ppi paid, so I am not surprised they are trying to object

    Thanks again

  • Hi Guys
I received a letter from FSCS on 17 November 2011 asking if I wished to reclaim PPI from Welcome. I completed the form claiming a refund on the basis that I was told that addition of PPI would guarantee my loan. I received confirmation of receipt of my claim form on 20 November 2011 and the refund for the two loans eligible for consideration by FSCS was in my bank on 25 November 2011.

On their advice I downloaded a claim form from the Welcome website for a refund of PPI on two older loans and sent it to Welcome Complaints Dept on 12 December 2011 and again received confirmation of receipt on 20 December 2011.

I received an offer from Welcome on 20 January 2012 and have today sent my acceptance form to them for BACS payment to my bank account.

Wondered if anyone had received a refund lately and how long it took from acceptance to payment?
  • I've just reclaimed PPI for 2 loans I had with Lloyds TSB & had letter back today confirming they will repay the PPI plus interest - £5940 in total- Hurrah!!:j
I had 2 loans with Lloyds TSB (both of them originating from around 12 yrs ago) I had not tried claiming before as Lloyds were notorious for being difficult to reclaim. I downloaded & filled out their online questionnaire after being inspired by one of Martin's articles about PPI reclaim in November last year. I enclosed copies of the original loans stating that the loan protection was not explained as optional by the advisor, the loan documents also did not state it as optional and no cooling off periods were mentioned, the PPI was presented as part of the loan agreement - the PPI was therefore mis sold. LLoyds letter arrived today - no quibble, just stating repayment of premiums plus interest at 8%. They assure me they will pay 'as quickly as possible'. Thank you Money Saving Expert & all the success stories I read that inspired me to give it a go.
