PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Was your mis sell reason just the pushy sales person or anything else in addition? Congrats by the way that's some win
the reason was that the sales advisor stated that my wife would not get the loan unless the ppi was taken - we even phoned them 2 years ago to take it off and they said no!0 -
I claimed for a mis sold PPI on an endowment mortgage with LTSB . Sent off the appropriate form from this web site . Received a letter 12 weeks later from LTSB saying they will pay back all of the payments £5000 odd plus interest making it a total of £9000 odd. Big thanks Martin, if it wasn't for this site and all the advice I probably would never have claimed0

Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Martin Lewis.
I had 2 credit cards and a loan, all with PPI on them.
My credit card with the Halifax has just paid out £775.
Has taken about 5 months, but got there in the end.
My loan I had with Lloyds TSB has gone to the financial Ombudsman, so am waiting on them. (Lloyds very unhelpful)
My credit card with Lloyds I am still waiting on too, but will let you know how I get on.
I had the runaround from both companies to start off with, but I never gave up. Reading the letters on this site and Martins PPI form helped me very much. So anyone thinking of giving up please keep going. It's better you have the money in your pocket than the pesky banks.
Thank you again Martin.:T

Hi there
Just an update, I had some news from MBNA this morning, true to their word of the 8 weeks from contacting them.
One one card PPI, they have asked me to complete a questionairre and return it to them but on the second they say that they do not feel that they miss sold the ppi as I have ticked the box.
I took this card out in 1999 and I am sure I had not ticked a box although I cannot be sure I didnt.
Any comments from people who have taken their cases to the FOS on what will be the next steps.
Thanks

I've just received an offer of £4,137 from Halifax for mis-sold PPI on my credit card! It only took a phone call to Halifax's dedicated PPI complaints team and 4 weeks later this offer! How easy was that?!
If like me you've been putting off sorting through your statements to see if you've had/got PPI......DO IT NOW!
Honestly, I'm so pleased!:j0 -
whoop!
My Halifax and Lloyds TSB credit card's have had their PPI refunded...just waiting on the Lloyds chq as we speak:j:T
took me ages, and I had to allow a few more weeks than expected but got there in the end.
now I just have to report my Capital One, Virgin and Barclays one's to the Ombudsman.0 -

After advice from this forum (thanks beamerguy), I emailed Bob Diamond as I wasn't getting any joy from their PPI Dept. I received an email last Thursday from Dinesh Hundalani Customer Relations Manager, Barclays Specialist Complaints - Head Office stating
"I write further to your email of 17 January addressed to our Chief Executive Officer, Bob Diamond. I have been asked to reply on Mr Diamond’s behalf.
I’m sorry that you’ve had cause to complain. I have forwarded your concerns to the relevant department, who will be in contact with you directly. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me for an update."
Then on Saturday, I received letter offering me £3,774 as a full refund for my OD protection and the money was in my account.:T
Also on Saturday, my OH had his complaint upheld for PPI on his Natwest Blackcard and a goodwill offer of £7900!:j
That is my PPI journey(August 2011-Jan 2012) finished now.
Barclayloans £8,300 paid
BOS loan £9,341 paid
Barclays OD protection £3,774 paid
OH's PPI journey continues......
so far he has
MBNA £4,159 paid
Natwest Black card £7,900 waiting for payment
Halifax Mastercard & Visa card, Lloyds TSB Card and a Black Horse loan to go!
Keep up the good work Martin and everyone else on this wonderful site.:T:T0
