Today I received a letter confirming that are offering me a total of £9,700!!!! This included refunds and interest on both the loan I complained about and the previous loan that I consolidated! I'm really happy and this amount included a tax payment.
Thankyou MSE!!!
Congratulations, can I cheeky and ask how much the loans were for and over what period. I've been offered refunds but they are very low, but I did consolidate a couple of times.0 -

Give FOS a ring and ask if they can do this,it is possible i suppose, but the FOS will be more help to you.
Thanks, I rang them this morning and obviously they can't be specific as I haven't passed my claim on to the yet. But she did say thet they were contradicting themselves by denying the had misold ppi and then offering a part refund. I think it's worth one more try of direct contact and if I don't get any joy then I will pass it on to FOS0 -
LLoyds PPI from 1996 and 1999
Hi
I have had a few loans in the past with PPI added. Two of the loans were with Lloyds Bank one was opened circa 1996 and the other in 1999. I had the opening statements from the 1999 loan showing up front charges of over £1800 .I did not have a copy of the loan agreement but Lloyds paid me back over £4000 "success":jOn the other loan from 1996 I only have statements from 2000 and 2001. These statements show that I paid off the loan 2 1/2 years early.
I have statement numbers 16 - 20.On each statement 3 monthly payments are listed would I be right in assuming therefore that there would have been 45 previous payments.
Lloyds also say that they have applied to the insurers Aviva for the original documentation but they no longer have copies of the insurance policy.Does this mean that they know that the insurance existed. To add to the confusion they keep telling me over the phone that my monthly payments were £530 which is exactly what I paid for a car loan in 2000 with Black Horse. Is it likely that Aviva are talking about the car loan. Will Lloyds still have records of the loan and what the upfront charges were, and if they cant get the original insurance documents will it affect my chances of success.0 -
Hsbc very slow. Put complaint in for mis-sold mortgage protection with critical illness cover on 23 June 2011. They wrote to me last week saying that my case was still in queue to investigate but other customers in front!! It's been 7 months and am I right in thinking that they are in breach of the FSA timescales?

Fightingspoon - please can you tell me your timescale with Natwest? I have one in with them at the moment, thanks
I sent the forms off around the middle of November and received a letter confirming that they were looking into it a week after. I received the offer this week so probably about 10 weeks in total. I have now sent the signed offer back so it will be interesting to see how long they take to pay!0 -

I had a 10K loan which I consolidated with other debts after a few years into a 15k loan over 7 years. I only complained about the second loan but they automatically refunded the initial loan as it was linked! The offers were sent separately.0
