My complaint about a Citicard, taken over by Opus, is with the FOS who are trying to find out who is going to refund me on this. I know that another forum user nd20 is in a similar position. FOS have been looking into this for me for nearly 2 months now (it has been with them since Febraury 2011 and they wrote to me in September saying BOS (Citi) would be paying out but they didn't). The FOS have contacted BOS and Lloyds without apparent success, as no-one seems to want to take responsibility. I find it slightly strange as my account with Citi was closed before Opus took them over.

I have only a limited knowledge about who deals with what, but is this something that the FSA would be able to help with? After all they regulate all the banks and must be able to make a decision on whose responsibility it is. Anyone think it would be worth a phone call?

The attitude of the banks doesn't seem to improve.

I got a settlement from Opus (formlerly a Citi Card) last month, and the transfer was made by the Bank of Scotland.

Have to say they were excellent from start to finish with me.

Noted that a lot of claims are from other Banks etc. But have yet to see if anyone has had any success with First Direct. We have PPI going back as far as 2003, no idea what success we will have in getting any of it back.

I have a claim with the FOS atm they claimed I ticked a box when I was told it was compulsory for the gold card upgrade
  • Woohoo, after reading Martins blog on the subject of reclaiming mis sold PPI I decided to make a couple of phone calls. Firstly I contacted Northern Rock regarding a couple of loans I'd had then lloyds regarding a credit card. Today I received a settlement offer from NRAM (Northern Rock) of just over £4000. I am still waiting whilst Lloyds investigate the claim but all it took was one phone call, thanks for the great advice Martin
The whole process from phone call to offer took around 12 weeks :-)
  • Hi I was wondering if somebody could help me I have received an offer from Halifax for 10.19 9.19 being the premiums and 1 pound being the interest and 8% interest. Is this right how could this be so? I spoke to a member of staff at halifax but she could not help me at all.

Should I take this further. What surpised me is the fact that I recorded the cheque before I received the email.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Just received a letter from RBS regarding PPI that we had on 2 Natwest loans. They are repaying us over £1700!!!!!! I only had to call them to start the claim aswell!!!!!! All of this money will go back to Natwest as we have debts with them but it is going to bring our debt free date forward considerably!!

Thank you, what month was your online application?
  • I had a loan with Bradford & Bingley in 1992/3 which included missold PPI. I have been in contact with BB over past 6 months and to date they have concluded that they cannot trace my account or the loan and subsequent PPI documents so cannot verify that I ever had said account or missold PPI. I have tried tracing my natwest current account from where the direct debit was paid (via mylostaccount) but not even they can trace my natwest account which I stopped using in 1999/2000. Does anyone have any ideas or shall I just leave it be?:(

    Hi there,

I have just found out details of 3 loans going back to 1994.

I think the first one was approx £1000/1500 over 12 months.

I then took out another loan a year after this, and same again the following year. Again, I think they were for approximately the same amounts over 12 months.

The bank cant find find copies of the loans agreements, only the account numbers so they cant confirm if I had PPI or not. I think I probably did as I was only about 20 at the time and these were my first loans so I was quite naive and would have accepted whatever the assistant told me. However I didnt realise I have full accident/sickness cover with my work at 6 months full pay then 6 months at 75% pay along with a full redudancy pay.

My question is, have I been mis-sold? What are my chances of getting anything back?

You need to know if you paid ppi.
As these loans go way back and the bank can only find the account number and not the agreement, surely if they know the account number, is that all that is on the screen??? i would have thought that there would be the loan amount and repayment amount at least.
I would give them a ring back and ask them this question.

As they have the account number you could try a SAR ,dont forget to include £10,this will throw up any info they have on you.

I dont know what to tell you with this,it is nearly 20 years ago, dont think they will have this info anymore as too much time has passed.

If anyone knows any different then i am sure they will post up for you.
