After looking at this forum a while ago, I submitted a complaint to Nat West about being mis sold PPI on a loan via the FSA's standard form.
Today I received a letter confirming that are offering me a total of £9,700!!!! This included refunds and interest on both the loan I complained about and the previous loan that I consolidated! I'm really happy and this amount included a tax payment.
Thankyou MSE!!!:beer:0 -
My complaint about a Citicard, taken over by Opus, is with the FOS who are trying to find out who is going to refund me on this. I know that another forum user nd20 is in a similar position. FOS have been looking into this for me for nearly 2 months now (it has been with them since Febraury 2011 and they wrote to me in September saying BOS (Citi) would be paying out but they didn't). The FOS have contacted BOS and Lloyds without apparent success, as no-one seems to want to take responsibility. I find it slightly strange as my account with Citi was closed before Opus took them over.
I have only a limited knowledge about who deals with what, but is this something that the FSA would be able to help with? After all they regulate all the banks and must be able to make a decision on whose responsibility it is. Anyone think it would be worth a phone call?
The attitude of the banks doesn't seem to improve.0 -

What were you reclaiming: Credit Card
Who was the provider: egg(barclays)
How much did you get back: I got £3,826
And then write your brief reclaim tale :
Submitted a claim to Egg on 5 October 2011 about mis-sold PPI on an online credit card application form from 2003, because the form was pre-ticked. Received follow up to say it had been passed over to Barclays. Just received an offer of £3826 which I am happy with. I don't think it includes the charges I incurred each money for going over my limit so will ask them to calculate including - probably pushing my luck but worth a go. Thanks so much to everyone on the site for posting help, guidance and experiences. :j
Hi did you only claim pre ticked box so unfair way of selling or was there something else to support your claim. I sent mine yesterday and your result gives me high hopes as my online application was feb 20030 -

I rang the ombudsman regarding the GISC,and you are right they
also said that i should write to them and remind them that they
were a Member of the financial banking of the ombudsman, right
back to 1992 and before,by reminding them about this it just
might make them re-think their reply,he said if and when i get
a final response he would be very happy to take this on as ive been
tackling them since August 2011,,if anyone else has an excuse about
barclays becoming a member of the GISC,and cant look at claims before this date,i say ignore it ,,its a FOB OFF..I have written them
a letter and will wait for my last response, and let you guys know
ASAP,
regards mark....0 -

I sent the claim in on the 30th November and had a phone call asking questions about my claim on December 6th i then had a letter saying they were looking into my claim and have until the end of february to make a decision. Has any one else tried successfully or not to claim back from the Halifax. I'm just wondering what my chances are?
I've also found an old statement today from a Alliance and Leicester loan i had so have just emailed them too.... will keep you posted.
You have a chance of winning,if you were mis sold this ppi, lots on here have had wins with Halifax.0 -

Hi, I'm new to this but i'm really hoping someone can offer me advice or maybe experienced something similar.
I was always aware that I had ppi on 2 loans going back 8 and 10 years. At the time, I was told that I would be refused the loans if I didn't take out ppi. 9 weeks ago I filled out the template letter and sent a request to the bank, last week I received an offer of almost £2400.
Sounds all very simple but while the bank have offered me 8% interest along with the offer, I should be receiving almost £3500. But the bank are only offering this to me on the grounds that according to them ppi was not misold on either loans but that instead of a one off ppi, a monthly paid policy would have suited my circumstances better. They didn't offer this at the time but if they had, it would have only cost me £1055. So they took this off the offer, hence my offer being£2400.
How can they offer me a refund and then take off a figure for a policy that they didn't offer?
I have 7 more days to accept or they have told me to complain to FOS.0
