Hi there, could someone help please. Im thinking of making a claim against HSBC and i have looked a the template and it asks for a policy number? Is this the loan account number as i cant find anything on my paperwork? Also, do you have to do claims seperatly? I mean, we took the loan out ( with loan account number) then a year later, we went back saying we were having problems paying it back with overdraft and cards, so they re-did the loan ( with a different loan account number) and then again, HSBC said it would be better to consolidate all our credit cards, loan, overdraft etc to ADD to the loan and again, they set us up with a new loan with a new loan account number. So which loan number do i use, does the last one class as the main loan and go by that? Also is that to use for the policy number? Sorry for being dim lol :)
Looking forward to winning lots of competitions :j

    Good luck everyone :)

  • Received a letter today from Lloyds TSB from an old loan in 2004 - I couldn't remember the exact details about it but knew I had only made a few months payments before I paid off the loan. Anyway my complaint has been upheld. £308 which will be paid into my account and because I have experienced a delay they are treating this as a priority ( I haven't even experienced a delay!)

My 1st letter was sent on 14th November 11, got a letter back the week after saying they were investigating then got my final response today, only around 2 months altogether.

Just wait for the payment now.
Successfully claimed back total of £2802 PPI

  • Want to say thanks Martin after reading your info on reclaim mortgage PPI which we had paid for the last 6yrs and had only cancelled it as natwest declined to support an unemployed period. we pursued Nat West with a PPI Claim .. after 6 wks from application we have today recieved a full refund of payments for £1,600..:j

Hi all. I am still struggling to locate which company my PPI was with. All I have is a bank statement that shows the monthly amount (£20.48) and the reference on the bank statement is NW Mortgage MRP.
I have tried Natwest and Nationwide, I have even contact the bank which the direct debit came out of, but because this account is now closed they cannot say who this company is! Sooooo frustrating!
Does ANYONE recognise or have any thoughts who that company may be - NW Mortgage MRP.
i sent our letter direct to nat west mortgages with the dates account open and when payments were stopped also i was able to give them the account number ,we recieved full refund within 6wks.:rotfl:
  • Hello People

I am new here and I was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with Sainsbury's Bank? I have just sent off my questionnaire this week to them. I had a loan and was told PPI was compulsory and never thought I would be allowed to cancel it, total cost is 4 and a half grand for the PPI. Fingers crossed but I am not holding my breath!
    Thanks! :)

    Hi Brandynginger,
Recently had a complaint upheld from Sainsbury's (Bank of Scotland) The PPI was a single premium upfront payment (in effect a loan within a loan) this is frowned upon by the FOS and is the most upheld type of PPI. You will find that this PPI was fraudulent, not only because it was designed never to pay out but also Sainsbury's is partly owned by Lloyds Bank, Bank of Scotland (the people who put the money up) is owned by Lloyds Bank and the Insurance Company that supplied the useless cover was St Andrews which, also is owned by Lloyds Bank.
You say you have sent off your questionnaire, if they do not uphold it, hit them with what I have said above, they will have no option but to uphold then, good luck ;)
    Successes
    Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid :)
    MBNA £3,600 Paid :)

    Thanks for the encouragement :)
This sounds exactly the same as my case. Sounds like I may have a chance then. I am angry about this PPI as I told them I did not want it, but they made it clear it was a condition of my loan. I had no idea this was illegal until I heard ML on the radio:):)

I'm confident they will uphold and it took 11 weeks in total from my initial complaint to getting the cheque. I had paid £4042.00 in PPI over 7 years and got back £6,400.00 approx ;)

Just had a call from FOS, they've rejected my claim against Capital One. They've had nothing from Capital One to suggest I checked an opt-in box but think I would have taken it given my circumstances at the time (thinking back on this I find it more than a bit condescending)...

I've got 2 weeks to appeal.

Any advice? Anyone else had success against them with an online application?

I guess I have nothing to lose by appealing but from reading through posts I doubt I'll have much luck.

Sorry to hear your news, could i ask how long it took the FOS to deal with your claim?
