Just had a letter from barclaycard, it says they cannot find any policy documents relating to ppi on my credit card so they say they cannot proceed with my claim, i know i paid ppi it is on my statements as card protector or something like that. they say this is the final response but i can go to ombudsman , or they will re open if i can find the original documentation, what do i do now?
Send copies of the statements to them, ask them to look at this again,if you get the same response back, take this to FOS.

Just received a letter from MBNA saying they are investigating my claim....

    What happens next?
They have 8 weeks from the date of your claim to issue a final response.
    This may happen quicker.

how is it possible for me to get my original agreement, been looking all morning and i cant find anything, the only evidence i have of ppi is on my card statements, and seeing as they say they cant find original docs i cant see any point doing an sar:(:(:(:(:(
Even if you had the original agreement, this may not be of any use to you, most card ppi is put on when you activate the card so it will not be on the agreement.
Send copies of your statements to the bank, this should be sufficient to show ppi.

I had explained in my original letter that at the time the PPI was cancelled I verbally asked for a refund and was told that I would not get it so I considered that my complaint had been declined then.
Give FOS a ring and get their advice, when you cancelled and asked for a refund that (in my opinion) should have been looked at.

Hi, I hope someone can help me. We bought a suite from Northern Upholstery (now DFS) in June 1999 on a buy now pay later over 3 years (interest free) and were sold ppi on the finance. We believe that we were mis-sold the ppi as both myself and my husband were in jobs that had good sickness and redundancy benefits and also we were not advised at the time (by the salesman) that the ppi was not compulsory. I believe we paid the finance off in June 2002. I have contacted DFS and they state that we need to contact the finance company who we paid the money to so that we can get a statement from them showing that we did in fact pay ppi. However, I have rang First Direct (I found a letter from them dated June 1999 regarding date first instalment was due and this has an agreement on it) but they say that they have never offered business finance to companies so were unable to help me!! Can anyone else please advise where we can go from here? Many thanks, Diane
They did not do finance to companies, they did finance for you,did you give them the agreement number?.
It may be because of the year, they cannot find you.

Did you put a claim for mis sell into DFS?,if you did not, then look here for reasons for mis sell

If any/all apply to you, then put a claim in,use the agreement number you have,do the same with First Direct and see what they come back with.

When you get the response, post on here and if it is not favourable you can take it further.

    Thanks Amersall,

I did put the original complaint into DFS via e-mail and over the phone but they say we need to get the statement from first direct showing we paid ppi. I know the finance was with ourselves but it was set up by Northern Upholstery. I will call First Direct again on Monday and give them the agreement number. I will also speak to DFS again and will post response etc on here. Diane

I have been trying to reclaim Debenhams PPI dating back to 1996. They sold it to me when I was a Full Time Student.

For the past four months I have been told numerous times that I wasn't entitled to anything but never gave up.

To my surprise a cheque arrived last week for £16,000.00 I was shocked but all the hard work was worth it.

    Never give up!

My Halifax PPI was also accepted in August but I still await the amount to be released.

    :j

If you're still on here, did you have to go via the FOS, FLA, or original underwriter to get your money back?

My parents both had claims with Debenhams store cards taken out in the mid to late 90's.. I've not seen many successes on here, although I think a lot off ppl have given up to soon..
My mum was a housewife! and my dad self-employed and both had PPI on these cards that were closed a few years ago. My dads was rejected and is with FOS and my mums had an acknowledgement stating contact in 4 weeks..

    Thanks
