PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

So very happy today - I've just been told by LLTSB that they're offering me £15103.00 in total for mis sold PPIs on 5 old loans!! I also tested the water earlier this year, and in October got £4700 back for mis sold PPI on my credit card!
It was the same staff member at the bank that mis sold me these each time, I didn't know what I was signing up for, he didn't explain they were optional and when I tried to claim on the credit card PPI a while ago I found I couldn't claim because I had to be seeking a job through the job centre - in fact I work from home for my husband's company and they couldn't afford to pay me at the time. Advice to anyone out there: DO go back and see what old policies you may have had, DO use the template letters on this website, DO be very firm and insistent on how the policies were mis sold when complaining, DO chase them when you don't get a response, but DON'T be rude or angry with them when you do have to chase them. Be persistent but patient and you'll hopefully get there in the end.

HI there
I am using a claims company to look after my current claim as I did not find this forum realy until after I began my claim (obviously did not look hard enough), however I have some questions as I want to look earlier that I have been up until now. Luckily the claims company I am using is not taking the high percentage that I have seen some do.
Firstly I am making claims agianst Lloyds for a loan and a credit card, MBna for 2 credit cards, Halifax for a mortgage and first plus for a loan, I have received letters from all saying they are investigating and will come back within the 12 weeks from receipt of claim ..... Can anyone advise if they are likely to respond in that time, as reading some of the posts it looks unlikely, MBNA are saying they will respond be end of jan
Secondly, I know I had several loans that I had taken out more than 6 years ago, that had front loaded ppi, that I know was missold. I do not have details at hand but my question would be if I can find out the details, SAR to the relevant companies???? and see what they disclose and send to me, can I make a claim on these loans also (BY myself) as I see some people on this thread are receiving payout on laon accounts from more than 6 years.
Like I said whilst my current claims are using a claims company, I am sure I ahev other valid claims that they are not looking at that I could persue myself. I am embarrased at the way I went through money in my younger years, and the avaiaiblity of credit to mewhen I was younger was rediculous.
Any comments would be greatly received
Thanks

I can answer the first bit - I had a CC and loan with Lloyds TSB, a CC with Halifax and MBNA and a loan with first plus - they all sent their offer letters within the 12 week window (but did leave it to the last minute!!), MBNA did it in two weeks. I have only had the cheques off first plus which took 3 weeks to come through after I accepted their offer. I've only just received my offer letters from Halifax, Lloyds and MBNA so figure it will be sometime before I get the payments off them, if the other posts are anything to go by that is.
Hope this helps.0 -
Hi all,
Just after some info, I put my claim into lloyds tsb back in May 2011, they rejected it in Sept 2011. I sent them a letter back stating i was unhappy wuth their decision but I never received a letter after that so I sent it to the FOS in October 2011, they are still looking into it at the moment. Does anyone know how long it will take for the FOS to come back to me with a decision?
Thank you in advance0 -
Hi,
would anyone be able to help me with a contact at Barclaycard.
Our initial complaint was sent June 2011.They replied in October offering a 'goodwill payment' but would look at a more accurate offer if I had any further info so I faxed the couple of statements that I had and heard nothing since. I have rung the telephone team a number of times since to be told the complaint is waiting to be re-worked but no time scale as to when & I am getting fed up waiting now!
Anyone any advice,please?0 -

Hi All,
I have currently made a claim with halifax for mis sold insurance on my credit card and I was successful in my attempts. They sent me a cheque for £1100, which I desposited in my bank. But 2 days ago they sent me a statement and on there it showed they have added the £1,100 onto my balance. Previously my balance was £5,000 and now it has gone to £6,100. How can this be? This means they have not paid me anything at all as they have added it onto my balance, not even taken it off.
I am currently in a debt mgt plan as I have a few credit cards, and i pay no interest just a fixed paymenbt each month on how much i can afford.
Any advice would be most welcome, shall i ring them, or write to to them and what shall i say?
Many Thanks in Advance
D

Hi there, I'm new to this forum but the success I'm hearing is amazing. I have mad previous loans with NATWEST and currently have a credit card with MBNA. I have no idea what the best method would be to begin enquiring if I have any cases for a PPI claim. I've never asked for PPI and I'm not even exactly sure how to find out if I've been given it.
Any help would be very much appreciated guys and girls as you all seem to be doing so well!
Thanks :-)0 -
