I just wondered if anyone had successfully applied for PPI mis-selling while on a Debt Management Plan at all?
Thanks
Hi,
I'm on a DMP and have successfully claimed PPI - had money paid into my bank account from Northern Rock, £2,000 from Halifax is going to the Consumer Credit Counsel who do my DMP for me for them to distribute between my creditors and Lloyds TSB are sending me a cheque for £4,600, so I think it depends on who you claim the PPI off as to what they do with your money - they are all different.
hope this helps.0 -

From sending the first letter to recieving the final settlement it took a total of 9 months.
MBNA and Goldfish / Barclay Card were the two credit cards I had, one for around 3 yrs the other about 12 yrs. Both settled with no problem, at the time it seemed to be taking for ever but looking back I can't really grumble.
MBNA offered £800 and Barclay Card £41500 ... no its not a typing error it does say £41500
An hour or so to fill the forms in and a couple of stamps. Be mad not to I think.
Hi Flippin, Roughly what were your balances on the Barclaycard?? I have a claim ongoing with them at the moment, I have had my card for 20 years now, they rejected at first but I have asked them to reconsider. Many thanks0 -
HSBC have upheld my complaint and are paying me back circa £1500 however I should have had it by now and I cannot get through on the number given on this website (same as that on thier letters) for the life of me/ It simply rings and rings then I get cut off.
Any ideas anyone? TIA.Debt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)
Loan 1 £1787
Loan 2 £1683
Total £8601 Was £393020 -

Hello Everyone,
I submitted a Claim to lloyds for misold loan insurance back in May of last year. In August i received a letter to say my claim had been accepted and I would be paid. Despited hundreds of phone calls, ive still not received any money or other letters! I ring them at least four times a week for them to say its still been calculated by the payments team, we've escalated it to our team manager etc to again hear nothing. I dont know what else to do, i've been waiting 5 months for a calculation. I know im not the only one but 5 months is a bit extreme I think. Any advice anyone?
Thank You,
Nicola0 -
I wrote to Lloyds on behalf of my boyfriend making a claim for PPI on an old loan. I followed the instructions on MSE and filled out a FSA questionnaire along with a covering letter. Lloyds quickly wrote back saying that they were going to investigate ALL loans and credit cards accounts owned by my boyfriend. Just before Christmas we received a letter from Lloyds listing several loans with PPI and repayment offers including interest. I am happy to report that my boyfriend is now awaiting a total of £8000 to be repaid into his bank account. Many thanks for all your help with this, if it hadn't been for MSE I probably never would have attempted to make a claim.:T0

I am also new to this, but i believe these type of PPI policies can be regarded as missold regardless of how they were applied for as the FOS take a view they were extremely bad value.Perhaps someone with more experience can comment?
In my case i tried to cancel the PPI when i became self employed just 6 months into a 5 year loan.I was told i could not other than by refinancing the loan.I was told that since i was only recently self employed i would be unlikely to be accepted on a new application and a rejection would harm my credit rating.
I was basically stuck with this thing for the full five years.
I have also complained that the internet form didn't give an option to pay for the policy as a single payment without interest. In addition that there were insufficient questions asked online regarding whether i received full sick pay from my employer and whether i would consider it likely i might pay off the loan before full term.0 -
I've just received an offer of just over £2017.00 for PPI which was missold in 2000! The PPI ammount paid was £623.55 with a rebate they had miscalculated when we paid off the loan early ((£409.26) and £984.32 in interest at 8%!!! A total of £2017.13!! I only sent the letter (downloaded from this site) on 12th December 2011 and this letter was dated 22nd December 2011. I can't believe how quick it has been to receive an offer-bearing in mind it was over the Christmas break too. The bank was Alliance and Leicester (had to write to santander) and it was a £5000 loan.
I nearly didn't bother claiming and i'm so p[leased now that I did. i am also waiting for other claims to be answered from Barclays, barclaycard, I.F and Virgin (HSBC) all for PPI claims. I will let you know how I get on.
Thank you to everyone who posted on this site as reading these success stories spurred me on to send in these claims.
Any one with any doubts-Don't wait!!!! it is only the cost of postage. i have now had a very nice start to the New Year. Thanks again.:beer:0 -
Just to let everyone know I made a claim against a mis-sold PPI policy from the Halifax. I actually had claimed of the policy after having a stroke in 2001. Halifax have agreed to pay back £1476.04 in premiums + 8% interest of £1686.56 less previously paid out claim of £2400.00 making a net payment of £762.60. All i did was phone the Halifax and complained over the phone - no letter required and in about 10 weeks they have made me this offer. So even when you claim successfully of a policy you can still seek compensation for it being mis-sold. Hope you find this helpful.0
