  • With regards to my post last night.

I logged on to my on-line account this morning and found another payment made by NatWest, I have just spoken to the bank and after being put on hold 6 times and a 21 minute call in total! They have confirmed that I received 2 payments due to a) the 1st amount is what is owed to me from the PPI payments that I have made b) the second payment is the interest accrued. However the total of the 2 is higher than the offered amount..... confused? yes me too!.

In a nutshell I have in told that due to the change in interest rates and the 5 calls that I made with regards to my claim I have received an extra £35.98, so £1662.10 in total.

Just so everyone is aware that every time you make a call to the Natwest PPI concerns team they give you an extra £1.90 per call, if I had known this earlier I would have had the number on speed dial :@).

Thanks again for the advice from fellow peeps and a big thanks to Martin for making it so easy to claim, we are just in the process of moving house so this money will be very helpful.

Hope everyone on this site has had a Happy Christmas and that the New Year continues to see PPI being refunded.

Still not a word on my claim from Citi (Opus) which the FOS said was due to be settled by the first week of December. I know that nothing much would happen over the christmas week and not sure how long to give the FOS before I ring them again as they said before christmas they would chase again. The delays are so frustrating. They said they would make sure I would get the settlement eventually but it is now almost a year since the compaint was lodged. Pehaps by christmas 2012?
  • Letter on 19 December, saying that payment would be forthcoming! letter and cheque on 28 December, with a cheque for the full amount, with a bit of extra interest, £5,700 in total - keep at it people, the money is on it's way. Happy New Year - here's to a debt free one.

Helpful and interesting call just received from FOS. Evidently Lloyds are now saying they are not going to pay the Citi(Opus) settlements. The original offer came from BOS and the FOS are trying to establish now who is going to be responsible for settling them. They say they have a number of these and are now treating it as top priority. They are still saying it will get settled as an offer was made and I have accepted it. It is just a matter of more time.
Can't believe how the banks treat us. They said to ring in 6 weeks if I haven't heard but at least I know they are on the case now.

I hope you don't mind me asking how long has your claim been with the FOS?

Claim went to FOS in February 2011 having been put on hold for JR by Opus. Card was a Citi card and closed account before Opus took them over. Nothing heard until September when I received a letter saying Bank of Scotland (Citi) had agreed to settle and that I would receive figures and reimbursement by beginning of December. Now it appears no-one wants to take responsibility and pay out. I gather I am not the only one!

    Doh!

The missing letter advising we won which we thought we hadn't received had been "filed" away by the inlaws instead. Bless.

It included a breakdown of the figures, roughly it shows the following.

    Premiums paid £1600
    Interest related to premiums £2100
    Loss of cash payment £5.

I hear credit card redress may not have the 8% which you have to pay tax on.

As the Loss of cash payment above is quite low, does this mean it isnt the 8% amount and therefore not subject to paying tax (of which it would be a quid so hardly a problem)?

Thanks to everyone who has helped thus far and a happy new year to you all.:rotfl::T:money::money::j:beer:

Look at the reasons for mis sell and if any/all apply to you then put a claim in.
You may get knocked back, but then you may not.
