£2500 from Cooperative Bank!
I have just received a £2500 PPi refund from Cooperative Bank for a loan I took out a few years ago. I used the letter templates and advice for this website to submit my complaint, I received the notification letter with the good news yesterday!
It does work!!0 -
If you had ppi it would show as a seperate "item" on your agreement, how much was the loan for and what was the monthly payment?.
The statments wont show ppi,if it was included in the monthly payment as on your agreement.
The problem is the statements show nothing apart from payments made each month and a starting balance of 18k on a 15k loan which makes me think that I did have PPI and it has been added on up front.
The agreement only shows loan amount plus interest payments on the loan. I think that m&s money use a third party to provide ppi and they are not providing me with all the paperwork.
I am just about to post a response letter with a SAR attached.0 -
I know what you mean, I took out a Firstplus loan but I am having to claim through the broker Central Trust, my case has been with the FOS since July 11 and I get frustrated with that. I hope you get your money back soon.
I just wanted to share my story regarding the claim against Central (don't) Trust through FOS. My journey started back in November 2009, when I contacted Central Trust directly, and within a few weeks, they sent me their final response saying 'sorry, there was no mis-selling of PPI, this is final, please go away'… or something along those lines…. so I contacted FOS in March 2010. Three months later (Jun/July 2010), I was contacted by an adjudicator who concluded that I was mis-sold of the PPI. Central Trust then replied…'no there was no mis-selling' but as a token of how we valued our customers, we will offer you 'a proportionate rebate' (since I had already paid off the loan)…which translated to something like 'here take this fiver, and shut up'. As the previous adjudicator had left her position (due to overwork and stress i am sure :-), another adjudicator took over in Jan 2011, and he wrote a couple of times, stated that my case was in the queue for Ombudsman's reviews. Then in July 2011, got a letter from another adjudicator who took over the case, and she said that she had another look at my case (while waiting in the queue for the Ombudsman). She too found the case in my favour and she wrote to Central Trust (after the Judicial review) stating to them that I was mis-sold of the PPI. Again central trust came back and said "NO". Lastly, my case was eventually being reviewed by the Ombudsman in early December 2011, who found the claim was in my favour, and had given me (to accept their decision) and Central trust (to consider the final decision) to respond by mid Jan 2012. I am sure this will go on a few more months for Central Trust to pay up.
So this story is just to let people know to
1) be prepared for a long journey
2) eventually justice will prevail
3) be patient
Thanks and happy new year to everyone here on MSE

So here here
Happy New Year to you, thank you for posting your journey. I started with Central Trust in May 11, my loan was paid up in 2006 and they offered me a really low offer, that is why I put it in the FOS hands. It seems like you have been a little lucky as the FOS have moved a little quicker for you, where we have had nothing happen in six months. Good luck on your journey hopefully you are near the end, when we had the offer from Central Trust they told us there was a six month wait for payment, so i do hope they have sorted out that side of things.
Please keep me posted on what happen's this month and lot's of good luck.0 -

What was the term and interest on this?.
They have sent you a copy of the agreement,if this does not show ppi and your statements dont, then i cannot see how you had it.
I could be wrong, the SAR may throw more up,so wait for that to come back.0 -
Hi,
My current Tesco Credit Card, which I've had since 2006 has PPI, but as I am currently using this card, I'm a little hesitant about making the claim, incase they ask me to settle the balance or something. I know I probably shouldn't be scared and obviously I realise that I will be without cover, but not sure if I should or I shouldn't... Any ideas??
If you want the cover and it is appropriate for you then it's not missold?0 -

Hi All,
I just wondered if anyone had successfully applied for PPI mis-selling while on a Debt Management Plan at all?
Thanks0
