  • Woo! Offer received from Tesco today for £1984.

It took a few letters and emails, I first complained early September. I had two letters saying they couldn't give me an answer yet, so I emailed the CEO and got a response from the executive complaints team, asking me for basic info I had already provided so I sent a rantogram but also provided all the info they asked for again. That was around 10th December.

I wonder how long it will take to get the cheque (acceptance back in post today) :j

Thank you so much to all on this site. I can't believe how easy it has been, and I'm not finished yet! :rotfl:
  • Firstly yes...another newbie!:D

Now my claim has hit a bit of a wall with Halifax delaying tactics...let me explain. I made my initial claim on a loan I took out in 2006 in May, and after about 13 weeks I was told I would be awarded just over £9000.00, made up over 5 seperate ammounts. The main £6000 or so is the problem, as I still have around 17 months left on the loan. PPI dpet will send out new documentation to set up a direct debit/pay off remaining loan. (The new loan being without the PPI obviously) This would be 12-14 days after the letter being issued to inform me of my PPI award. Now it turns ugly.....after a month no letter. Phone call...ok will be sent out within week. 2nd week in Dec, no letter (but honest..it has been sent:mad:) 3rd week, nope to which I ask to speak to a manager/supervisor as during this period Halifax Collections have kindly sent me 3 letters & phone calls saying I owe them for unpaid loan?!!! A few calls to them & its apparant that the PPI dept have not bothered to cancel the existing loan pending my filling in of forms which means I don't know what my new monthly figure will be.

Angry is not the word now as my hands are tied up big time. I want to pay my loan, but until PPI dept let me know how much I have to pay via a new direct debit, then the Collections people will keep on calling & what I "owe" will add up.:(
I have had appologies from the supervisor/manager person (Rachel) but frankly I feel I am being messed about rotten & after all...its my bloody money now!

Sorry for the long first post, but I have gone beyond laughing about it now. It really is starting to get me down a bit

Just to let folk know that claiming the PPI payments has been easy. I put out 8 claims and two were rejected (I was just floating those and knew they would not succeed!).

So far I have had about £50k back with two claims still outstanding.

I shall now work on the credit cards to see what that is worth to me.

My advice? Just do it. This site makes it easy to do. Follow the advice and hey presto a few quid in the pocket.

    Excellent!:T:T Congratulations!

On the rejected 2, did you ask them to review, or make a complaint to the FOS?

I started to try and reclaim from HSBC in April 2010 and they finally paid me back £6,300 just before Christmas.

There was no way that I would stop trying as I went through the same stalling tactics when I was getting my bank charges back. (which I got)

I would just say to everyone 'don't give up' keep fighting for what is rightfully yours.

    Well done!:T & Congratulations!

I used the form and guide from this site to place two PPI miss sold claims. If you think your not cut out to do it yourself believe me its easy and well woth the effort.

From sending the first letter to recieving the final settlement it took a total of 9 months.

MBNA and Goldfish / Barclay Card were the two credit cards I had, one for around 3 yrs the other about 12 yrs. Both settled with no problem, at the time it seemed to be taking for ever but looking back I can't really grumble.

MBNA offered £800 and Barclay Card £41500 ... no its not a typing error it does say £41500

An hour or so to fill the forms in and a couple of stamps. Be mad not to I think.

    That is fab!:T Congratulations!

I claimed for two credit cards and one personal loan, in total have received £4753.66 in reclaims!!

Credit card - Barclaycard - £1922.80 - Claim form and several letters to the provider without response, so forwarded to the FO which seemed to do the trick!

Credit card - LTSB - £1464.87 - Claim form and couple of letters to the provider

Personal Loan - LTSB - £1365.99 - Claim form and couple of letters to the provider. The loan was paid off in 2002, but I requested copies of the paperwork from LTSB to check if PPI had been added, it had and they paid up!

Thank you for all your help Martin :)

    Fantastic!:T Congratulations!

    Hi there

I would ask them to send you a written detailed breakdown and take it from there.
They work it out from what you have actually paid of the ppi to when you settled/paid off the accounts, but yes defo worth double checking over and take it from there.;)

Give it about 21 or 28 days from when they receive your acceptance, if you received nothing by then, chase them up x
