PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Just to let folk know that claiming the PPI payments has been easy. I put out 8 claims and two were rejected (I was just floating those and knew they would not succeed!).
So far I have had about £50k back with two claims still outstanding.
I shall now work on the credit cards to see what that is worth to me.
My advice? Just do it. This site makes it easy to do. Follow the advice and hey presto a few quid in the pocket.0 -
I started to try and reclaim from HSBC in April 2010 and they finally paid me back £6,300 just before Christmas.
There was no way that I would stop trying as I went through the same stalling tactics when I was getting my bank charges back. (which I got)
I would just say to everyone 'don't give up' keep fighting for what is rightfully yours.0 -
I used the form and guide from this site to place two PPI miss sold claims. If you think your not cut out to do it yourself believe me its easy and well woth the effort.
From sending the first letter to recieving the final settlement it took a total of 9 months.
MBNA and Goldfish / Barclay Card were the two credit cards I had, one for around 3 yrs the other about 12 yrs. Both settled with no problem, at the time it seemed to be taking for ever but looking back I can't really grumble.
MBNA offered £800 and Barclay Card £41500 ... no its not a typing error it does say £41500
An hour or so to fill the forms in and a couple of stamps. Be mad not to I think.0 -
I sent my Cahoot PPI claim off 6 weeks ago and have heard nothing back, I think to a bradford address.
I also registered the complaint on the Santander website but have heard nothing still.
Does anyone have a contact address for Cahoot claims, telephone etc.
Its possible I will hear before the 8 weeks just strange that Cahoot are the only bank to not issue an acknowledgement.
Ps. I got a fourth RBS PPI acknowledgment but only sent in 3, could Cahoot be number 4?
Cheers
Happy New Year!!
with regard to Cahoot i contacted Santander's PPI complaints dept on: 0845 600 6014. i called them 3 weeks ago.
i had an old Cahoot loan which finished in 2006 for roughly £9000.
Yesterday ireceived a letter stating i had PPI and they are settling with an amount of £4405.90p :j which includes all interest etc
I have another loan which i had with Cahoot still being looked into which was for £5000 so fingers crossed i receive some for that too0 -

Myself and a number of others have secured thousands of pounds in refunds - I had my interest recalculated from 2006 to present day at 6% and was given a £8000 refund!! This is not a joke - it would appear someone has had success with a Financial Ombudsman claim and now there are paying out.
I have been contacted by other's who state that this also works for closed account's.
The best way to complain is by contacting the CEO office at the email the ceo's office
(ceo@santander.co.uk)
It seems Santander hiked up the interest charges unfairly when they took over Cahoot and FOS ARE UPHOLDING ANY CLAIMS ON THESE LOANS

I claimed for two credit cards and one personal loan, in total have received £4753.66 in reclaims!!
Credit card - Barclaycard - £1922.80 - Claim form and several letters to the provider without response, so forwarded to the FO which seemed to do the trick!
Credit card - LTSB - £1464.87 - Claim form and couple of letters to the provider
Personal Loan - LTSB - £1365.99 - Claim form and couple of letters to the provider. The loan was paid off in 2002, but I requested copies of the paperwork from LTSB to check if PPI had been added, it had and they paid up!
Thank you for all your help Martin
