Not 100% correct, even if it has been taxed there will be further tax to pay if you are a 40% taxpayer.

    That is very true :)
    Successes
    Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid :)
    MBNA £3,600 Paid :)

  • Hi, everybody. Just checked my account and Welcome Car Finance have paid back my PPI.

    £1600. Really pleased.

I only started the process 4 weeks ago.

    Good Luck everyone! :j
  • Spoke to a few of my previous creditors today including Halifax, BOS & Santander, so far nothing to come back. I am waiting for initial letters from Black Horse Finance and MBNA, which have both told me I did have PPI.

  • Hi All, first post here but wanted to say a massive thankyou for giving me the kick up the back side needed on this.

Cutting a long story short I have had a few small (£2000) to large (£15,000) loans with Llyods over the years, going back to when I left School in the late 80's.

A couple of years ago my better half had a fall and injured her spine and is now basically unable to work, this meant that long term I was struggling to keep my head above water with money and my credit card balances were going through the roof just trying to make ends meet each month.

I applied for another loan with llyods and after 20+ years with them and never having missed any payments they told me that they wouldnt lend me the money, that's when I found this site :)

I had seen the advert about PPI reclaiming on the TV and very nearly contacted them but came here first and am i glad I did..

I didn't have much in the way of details on previous loans so I basically just sent Lloyds PPI department a letter stating that I wanted a full refund of PPI payments on my current account and my credit card, this was in september last year.

At the end of October I recieved a letter from them about the credit card informing me that they were offering me a £1671.60, which I didnt think was bad at all.

Then the last post before Christmas I recieved 9 letters in the post concerning different loans I have had with them, in total they have offered me a whopping £20983.45.

This is fantastic as in total I owe £15,000 on credit cards and a loan, I am over the moon to know that in the next few weeks I will be totally debt free once again and actually have a few pounds in my savings account.

So I just wanted to register and say a huge thank you to all of you here :)

  • Hi
I Had to write and thank you for the information on your website!
Armed with this information i fired off a letter to Lloyds TSB Stating that i felt i had been mis-sold PPI due to having been sold a still active income protectiion plan for loan protection some years earlier !
I received reply saying they are looking into my complaint within a week!
It took nearly the full 16 weeks that they are allowed by the FSO untill they sent me a letter to say that they are ...

" Sorry this Situation occured blah blah... As a final responce we are offering you a payment of £17,607.63 "

Well i nearly fell off my chair
this was a refund for 3 loans all connected because the preceding loans were refinanced (payed off ) by other loans i took out with ppi
Refund came just before christmas about 2 weeks after receiving my offer so as i'm sure you can guess i had a great one !!

Many many thanks to the team there!

I hope this will inspire others to Write to their bank
    Good Luck
