Hi
I Had to write and thank you for the information on your website!
Armed with this information i fired off a letter to Lloyds TSB Stating that i felt i had been mis-sold PPI due to having been sold a still active income protectiion plan for loan protection some years earlier !
I received reply saying they are looking into my complaint within a week!
It took nearly the full 16 weeks that they are allowed by the FSO untill they sent me a letter to say that they are ...
" Sorry this Situation occured blah blah... As a final responce we are offering you a payment of £17,607.63 "
Well i nearly fell off my chair
this was a refund for 3 loans all connected because the preceding loans were refinanced (payed off ) by other loans i took out with ppi
Refund came just before christmas about 2 weeks after receiving my offer so as i'm sure you can guess i had a great one !!
Many many thanks to the team there!
I hope this will inspire others to Write to their bank
Good Luck

I sent my Cahoot PPI claim off 6 weeks ago and have heard nothing back, I think to a bradford address.
I also registered the complaint on the Santander website but have heard nothing still.
Does anyone have a contact address for Cahoot claims, telephone etc.
Its possible I will hear before the 8 weeks just strange that Cahoot are the only bank to not issue an acknowledgement.
Ps. I got a fourth RBS PPI acknowledgment but only sent in 3, could Cahoot be number 4?
Cheers

Hi there
Worth chasing them up to make sure they are dealing with them, they possibly are, but with so many reclaiming/ppi complaints its possible they maybe behind as well, no harm in checking this out with them though.
Did find the link to Cahoot, not sure if you've already got these details though, but otherwise if someone else have had dealings with them, hopefully they will post up soon, good luck on your reclaiming.

Claim submitted in June 2011, upheld letter received in September, advised claim would be paid out within 40 working days which would have been the end of November. Today I've received confirmation that just over £10k has been deposited into my account and I've checked and it's there. It's taken 6 months and a few first class stamps. Not done much chasing in all that time just waited patiently.
Many thanks to all who contribute to this site. I found the process easy and painless but I wouldn't have done it had I not seen how many successes there were. And if you've still not reclaimed then go on and do it, it really is easy and it's your money they owe you.0 -

I had two credit cards with Egg (now Barclays) and was happy to have PPI when I had to have major surgery 5 years ago. The PPI paid out in full, but early in January 2011 when I was struggling to make payments I was advised by an Egg collections officer to make another claim. Then I discovered that the PPI would never pay out again in any circumstances, although the premiums had continued to be taken from both accounts for a further four years. Complaint to Egg resulted in the cancellation of the PPI and repayment of the premiums by crediting both accounts; the cards were returned to a credit position and reinstated. There was no interest repaid, nor compensation, but they did send out a letter asking if I really wanted to cancel the PPI... Two days later the credit limit on both cards was lowered - in once case by exactly the amount of the repaid premiums. Back at square one, I complained to Egg again, and when this was not upheld referred the whole matter to the FOS at the end of January 2011.
I have had many letters from FOS about delays caused by the number of PPI claims, the most recent dated 19th December:
"We have worked hard to resolve more than 100,000 PPI complaints this year. However, the number of complaints we have received has tripled over the last few months - from 1,000 a week to nearer 3,000. This means that although we are working through complaints at the same rate, the number we have outstanding has risen to just over 80,000...
I am very sorry that we have not yet been able to resolve your complaint. I will write to you again with a further update - if you have not already heard from my team within the next three months."
I'm really happy for those of you who have had successful claims via FOS, but thought thought those who are waiting ought to know about their current position.
For myself, I wonder how an increase in claims in the last three months makes a difference to a complaint raised with them last January...0
