  • Good evening and merry xmas to everybody .i have been waiting 45 working days now from Barclays for my claim ,i have had no correspondence from them whatsover only to be told it is ongoing,i have emailed bob diamond and the senior customer service manager in london only to be given the run around ,they couldnt even get the specific claim correct ,this is totally unacceptable and am now thinking of throwing the towel in .I was supposed to have a response on this claim by the 2nd week of November, why isnt anybody kicking their backsides surely if i owed them i would be at court have a ccj and have a hell of a lot more than 8% interest to pay them to say im peeved off is an understatement aaarrrrhhhhh:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:gggg
  • And my final update on this .... Yesterday I received a cheque for just over £2500 from Lloyds. Thats my claim settled in full.

£7000 in total & pretty much debt free.
  • Hi, I'm new to this site and have a quick question for anyone who may have had the same experience as me.

I made a succesful PPI miselling claim to Barclaycard - which is great - however, I'm concerned that they have offered me too much compensation.

in broad terms, I had my PPI policy since 1990 and they calculated that my premium refund was around £500 but that the interest on the premium amounted to about £5,600. Does this seem plausible? They have also offered me 8% on top of this.

I'm concerned that they might come back and say that this is an error and withdraw their offer or, at a later date, ask for a refund

has anyone had a similar experience? Should I accept their offer and cash the money?

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    with thanks

Hiya, I ended up waiting around 60 working days and in that time I made two phone calls just to check that things were moving and no paperwork lost etc so if this is anything to go off you only have a few more weeks to wait.

You need to post the ppi amount and the term of each loan and how many months of ppi you paid for anyone to make a calculation for you, there are no maths people on here at the moment, but if you post your figures i am sure someone will help you with these.

You may struggle with the 2001/2002 ones due to the year.
you need to know the loan account numbers and if you actually paid ppi,you could contact each bank and ask if they have a copy of the agreements if you dont have these.

Hi there, someone who has had wins with credit cards will be able to help you more with this,it is possible the interest is more than the actual ppi with this being a credit card and not a loan, and the years they are paying you interest from.
  • After an 8 week wait whilst they carried out internal checks, I today recieved a letter from Tesco loans saying that they would repay my PPI plus interest for the car loan I took out 9 years ago! My arguement was that because of my job from which I can not be made redundant, which is very secure and pays sick pay in full, that I did not need PPI and because one of the questions asked was what my job was when I took out the loan, I argued that they should have informed me it was unnesecary. I applied on line and the web site automatically ticked the 'with PPI' and when I unchecked the box a warning appeared saying it was not wise to have a loan without it, thus making it appear that the loan would be more likely to be accepted with the PPI.
I note that it says on your info pages that it is harder to reclain PPI if the application was made on line, not in my case so don't be put off trying.
Thank you so much Martin, since discovering your site I have successfuly reclaimed bank charges to the sum of £2.500, PPi £3.685 and also £148 a year for washing my uniform.
I am in the process of helping my grown up son reclaim bank charges because he is suffering real problems with his finances aggravated by the bank, I'll let you know how we get on.X
